01.19.11 | I spelt week wrong on purpose. Just cause One Weak is a Deftones song off Adrenaline.
@Birdowordo, Edwin- Yeah, I'm seeing them at Roundhouse. I'll probably be the guy with the Isis shirt on.
And roopoo-At The Soundawn are awesome. I've heard three songs off shifting; it's on my list to get soon. I'll be sure to check out the other recs from you and pizza too.
On another topic. Anyone else seen the new Soundwave lineup? I thought it was bad before. It got worse. This new lineup shuffle to accomodate Sevenfold leaving is horrid. I thought it was bad missing out on Protest the Hero and Kylesa because of clashes. Now I miss out on Melvins, High on Fire AND Protest the Hero.
And Fortress is amazing on vinyl. js. |
Captain North
01.19.11 | I'm seeing them sooner, whoo. Hope they don't play any or many songs from Adrenaline. |
Butkuiss
01.19.11 | According to the setlists I've seen from their latest tour, they end with an encore of three or four Adrenaline songs; usually Engine No. 9, Birthmark, Root and 7 Words; and sometimes Bored. I'm not too upset though; I love Engine No. 9 and 7 Words. |
Captain North
01.19.11 | ergh. I hate that shit |

01.19.11 | saw them a few weeks ago, you have good reason to be pumped. long ass set list with all the good stuff in it |

01.19.11 | I really can't wait. So damn pumped. |
Edwin
01.19.11 | Only just realized the Soundwave timetable was out. My day is looking okay. Amity and Slayer clash but that's a no brainer (Slayer wins). Melvins clash with Maiden which sucks. And I would've loved to have seen Third Eye Blind, but oh well. |
Edwin
01.19.11 | High sputnik population at the Roundhouse. I'll be wearing tight jeans of some variety. |

01.19.11 | No around the fur? |

01.20.11 | On this list, nah, because I've loved it for about two years now. I never bothered to check out Adrenaline or Deftones until the past month. I figured I should know every song they're gonna play, so I did anyway.
Yeah, I still can't believe that. I was bummed when the original draft came out, but hoped with A7X gone, Protest the Hero would get shuffled so they don't clash for me. But now, it's Protest, Melvins AND High on Fire I can't see. Though I would rather see Kylesa than High on Fire any day. |
Edwin
01.20.11 | Are you seeing Maiden too? I'm pretty bummed about the Melvins clash. Sucks. |
Butkuiss
01.20.11 | Yeah. Maiden and Dio were the bands that transitioned me from DragonForce and BFMV worship to about the path I'm on today. I've been a massive maiden fanboy for as long as I can remember, and I just missed out on tickets when they came out in 08, so I promised myself this time, that no matter WHO they clashed with, I'd go.
Just sucks that they clashed with Protest the Hero and Melvins.
Oh, and does anybody know if Deftones have a supporting act, or is it 'tones all night?
EDIT: Oh, and Steve Harris was the guy who inspired me to pick up the bass and learn to play. Now, two years later, I'm jamming along to Primus in my room four hours a day. So I kinda owe it to him. (The reason I even bothered going to soundwave was to check out Les Claypool, Steve Harris and Arif Miraldohaghi live. Two out of three ain't bad.) |
Edwin
01.20.11 | Awesome, Dave Murray (and to a lesser extent Adrian Smith) inspired me to pick up guitar a few years ago. I missed out on Maiden in 08 as well and was absolutely shattered lol. Was stoked to hear they're doing Soundwave. I'm a massive Primus fan as well, that's gonna be an insane show. And agreed about Dio, was genuinely saddened when he passed! Number of the Beast and Holy Diver were the first two albums I bought when I was a young chap. |
Edwin
01.20.11 | And I haven't heard about any support acts for Deftones. Have you been to Roundhouse before? What's it like? |
Butkuiss
01.20.11 | Whoa, are you serious? Same here! Number of the Beast and Holy Diver were technically my third and fourth albums, but they were the first two albums I got when I started getting into music. Crazy shit.
I love Dave Murray. To this day, his performance in Phantom of the Opera still sends chills down my spine. And Primus are just insane. I really hope Les plays some of that new material they've been talking about. I'm totally stoked. |
Edwin
01.20.11 | Actually I think I might've got Slipknot's self titled a bit before them. And I got into Eminem around that time as well. Dave Murray was always my favorite of the guitarists for some reason (no one beats Steve Harris though). I'm just a Maiden fanboy full stop though lol, there's something lovable about them. Some sort of British sincerity or something. The crowd is going to be insane for Primus, such fun music. |
