I know how to program in Fortran, HTML and G (the graphical language of LabView).
Teachers in programming languages are boring, by default.
I have previous experience when i was learning Fortran at the university, as a chemical engineering student.
Imho, the best way to learn a programming language is to get a good book, a reliable compiler and start experimenting with your own code and ESPECIALLY with already written code by others.

i do remember him saying that it isn't , in his opinion , the best place to start , but then he started trying to compare the situation to some random shit about iPads and his wife so I blocked him out after that

01.18.11 | 1. Cool class, boring teacher who constantly plugs his DJ set throughout the class period. He's young, so I can't blame him, I guess.
2. Psych is awesome...but yeah, teachers are pretentious cunts. If you're late to this teacher's class three times your grade drops a whole letter. Sorta hard for me to avoid that seeing as its a fifteen minute drive to school and I don't have a reliable source of transportation as of now.
My best teacher so far as been my Sociology one. Him and I went to a Swans concert together. |

01.18.11 | Yup, Sociology is pretty damn easy. If you know how to write, and you have common sense, you can pad your papers with so much fluff that you barely even need to study.
Plus, I took sociology in high school which was basically the same damn class as in college.
Another example of Mr. Garcia's (my soc teacher) awesomeness. All of his tests were multiple choice, and "D" was always a joke answer. For one test every "D" was a Frank Zappa song title.
Guy owned a record store too. God, I miss him as a teacher. |
