01.19.11 | grotesque. how did such an incredible band get so little credit? they were arguably the first 2nd wave black metal band, if you don't go by the norwegian biased accounts. sure, they're more death metal but the blackness is still there, especially in image and attitude. incantation came out in 1990, that and at the gates' gardens of grief were certainly influential on the development of what became norwegian black metal. but for some reason, nobody acknowledges this anymore. |
