Beastie Boys Ranked

Best of the Grand Royal 12's came up on my ipod on my way to work this morning so I kind of rhave them on the brain. I don't think there is anything shocking here they are simply one of my rfavorite groups.rP.S. Paul's Boutique is not there best album IMHO but feel free to disagree with me ;^)
7Beastie Boys
To the 5 Boroughs

Where to begin with this bad boy? After getting years of shit for Hello Nasty and watching there beloved city
get crippled by the attacks on 9/11 they released a great but very angry album that is filled to the brim with
expletives. I like 5 Boroughs more than most I think and it is a necessary element to any BB's collection
IMHO.
Favorite track: 3 The Hard Way
6Beastie Boys
The Mix Up

I completely forgot this album was released and have only today purchased and listened to it. I rec this
album and there is only one way to describe it:
Fuckin Chill
Favorite track: Dramastically Different
5Beastie Boys
Check Your Head

I constantly forget this album exists and I'm not even sure why. Falling between the monoliths that are
Paul's Boutique and Ill Communication in it's release date I just never got around to buying it which is
fucking stupid. The fact that I've never had this album but know half the tracks on it stands as a
testament to this album. Check Your Head should be higher on my list but I just can't bring myself to to
edge out those albums above it.
Favorite track: Something's Got to Give
4Beastie Boys
Hello Nasty

Probably the most disappointing album to BB's fans initially. The boys took mountains of shit for making a
clean album and "selling out" but much to there shagrin this bad boy burned up the charts 12 years after
there first hit single and showed that these guys were still here to play. This album has so many great
track that it has to win you over eventually. The down side is that even I have to admit that this album
does not get nearly as much playtime as 1-3.
Favorite track: Body Movin (specifically because of the numerous remixes that spawned from it {see best
of grand royal 12's})
3Beastie Boys
Licensed to Ill

I don't think I know a single person old enough to listen to the radio who isn't familiar with the line "You gotta
fight! For your right! To party!" and Brass Monkey can still be heard at parties across the nation.
Favorite track: Paul Revere
2 Beastie Boys
Paul's Boutique

This is actually a tie for second with L2I however it's impact on music and much deserved respect means it
gets the actual position on the list. The BB's at the tip top of there game with this game changer in the 1989
NY music scene. Unfortunately it really does not withstand the test of time for me which is why it no longer
holds the first position.
Favorite track: High Plains Drifter
1Beastie Boys
Ill Communication

With the largest collection of great songs and an attachment to millions of memories Ill communication easily
lands in my #1
Favorite track: Heart Attack Man
