Sea of Cowards
I really could not stop listening to on purchase. Although it could have more longevity and texture, Sea of Cowards is still excellent fun initially and great to go back to once in a while. | | 9 |  | The Black Keys

What they've done with their sound is interesting. The orchestral elements make for some great variation from past material, but that said, some of it doesn't have the same spark as "Universes". Lose Your Delusion Too
Yes, that's right. Over-Reactor released two records this year. Two records: the first of seventeen tracks, and the second of fourteen. Honestly, there was no other record I anticipated as much as this one. To have a band write so much music in such a short period of time and to be of such high quality just astounds me. While it falls only slightly short of the first, it still stuns and marvel's throughout it's 45 minute duration. | | 6 |  | Sufjan Stevens
The Age of Adz
Time for something different. And I mean that with every inch of sincerity in my body. Sufjan's "The Age of Adz" is just about as different as you can get without being Mr Bungle or Post-Rock. Throughout this record's duration, Sufjan does everything from A to 9999 and it is just as fascinating and engaging as it is enjoyable. He is certainly this generation's auteur of all things avant-garde, and if not, then for at least 2010. | | 5 |  | Twelve Foot Ninja

This gave just what I was hoping for from this promising new Australian band. While not quite as exciting as their self-titled EP, this is a record I know I'll come back to every now and then. Lose Your Delusion: Vol. 1
I couldn't stop listening to this when I first got it. Cory Blight's got the biggest groove on drums, and Ezekiel Ox continues to serve fresh his own steaming hot brand of anger and insanity. It certainly stands tall above anything either of them have ever done. Option Paralysis
A true masterpiece. It's expanded on everything they've ever done and broadened their sound into perhaps more of a balance between elements. That said, this is still one of the most aggressive, insane-sounding records released in recent memories, and a brilliant one at that. Diamond Eyes
Just mindblowing. A classic album. Amazing, brilliant, breathtaking, sprawling, jarring, just full-scale uninhibited, unmitigated awesome. It has everything a Deftones fan could want and more, and in the scheme of things it is deeper, broader, more dynamic and straight up better than anything released this fine year. There is no doubt in my mind that this is the best release of 2010. | |

12.17.10 | @cb123, I think you should definitely check it out. Zeke's quick-rapped anger is still there, of course, but the riffs are more "out-there" than before and it's a bit more avant-garde, with increased electronica influences. They experiment alot more and I think they've really succeeded. There are tracks on there better than anything they've done before, like "Control of This", "Wasteland" and "Word". 12.17.10 | Yeah Billy, it is a bit samey. That said, its best songs are better than anything of their first record, ie the ones I mentioned before. Control of This is just off this fucking earth. Mechanism is really electro, maybe even Industrial, I love it. Can't believe they're putting another two out next year. | Vooligan
