The first Modest Mouse song i ever heard was Paper Thin Walls. After
showing my dad the song he went out and bought the cd. This album was
a turning point for me in music. It was the soundtrack to the summer in
which i first started smoking pot, and i just remember skateboarding
around so baked at 3am listening to this.
My friend always said this was his favorite Modest Mouse records because
of the lyrics. Isaac Brock's lyrics are so amazing, from complex metaphors to
just straight up pretentious rambling, it all comes together to create stories
and characters that makes me wish i had what he was smoking.
A friend lent this to me right before i left for Europe so i have lots of
memories over there with this album. I love the girl who sings on a few on
the songs here, her voice works so well with his.
Night On The Sun is by far one of my favorite Modest Mouse songs, its so
haunting and epic. You're The Good Things is another amazing track off this
EP
