Sputnik Profiles: Special Double Edition!

Today The Analyzer will be gracing the users of Sputnik Music with a special second edition of Sputnik Profiles; and to commemorate this rare event, he will be doing a dual profile on two of Sputnik's most famous staff members: users mynameischan and Electric City.

The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

Strengths: Users mynameischan and Electric City share many of the same strengths: a knack for witty critical prose, a taste heavily rooted in indie, pop and punk and a flair for the flamboyant (see mynameischan's love for the show Glee and Electric City's avatar). This ambiguous duo are largely credited with the rise of what many refer to as "Sputnik albums" or "Sputnik bands," such as Brand New, Godspeed You! Black Emporer and Animal Collective. Both users are obviously hugely influential, and most new users find themselves admiring them in a form of internet hero worship. Chan's penchant for clever one-liners and humourous accusations is known far and wide, but his prowess as a writer is far more legendary. User mynameischan's reputation is almost worth all the mounds of hyperbolic claim it receives, with his review of GY!BE garnering him universal praise and an award for "Sputnik Review of the Year." This man literally pisses "class," for even when he attempts to dabble in petty internet douchebaggery, he still comes off as the sophistic and thoughtful gentlemen that he likely embodies in real life. While many users of Sputnik Music (new and old) aspire to be like the chan, rarely to they even come within a breath of his unbridled greatness. The same goes for user Electric City...
2Circle Takes The Square
As The Roots Undo

Weaknesses: Of course, there are none. So The Analyzer will dedicate this space to the wonderous accomplishments of one Adam Downer (Electric City). User Electric City's music reviews are so complex and "all over the place" (for lack of a better descriptor) that only a reader with the highest level of intellect could even attempt to comprehend the true message conveyed between the lines. While it is a mystery to The Analyzer what this magical writer may appear as in real life, he imagines that user Electric City looks like a cross between Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, and the beautiful swan thing portrayed in Downer's avatar. Either way, it should be known that idol worship is totally acceptable in this case, as Downer is a Sputnik staff member of the highest acclaim.

In The Aeroplane Under The Sea

Posting Tendencies: Hilarious and thoughtful critiques of other users' reviews (occasionally laced with profanity, but only when appropriate), Sputnik Madness lists that pit users against one another, brilliant music reviews, blog posts containing hilarious observational analysis (and occasionally a cruel pot-shot at another user or staffer). Basically, what some might consider condensscending, snarky remarks are actually the products of utter briliance and astonishing wit.

The Age Of Adz

Famous for: Being the biggest influences on Sputnik's collective music taste, being the most idolized staff members this side of mx, sleuthing to discover The Analyzer's true identity (and thus far failing).

The Monitor

Overall Sputnik Score(s): 11.0. Yes, 11 out of 10. That's how truly incredible both of these users are. Although they both come off as hipsters, that would be selling their creativity, originality and influence short. These are not only two of the greatest users in Sputnik history, they are quite possibly the two greatest people to ever have been immaculately conceived.
