Against Me!
Reinventing Axl Rose

For me, this is the greatest album ever, i don't think anything will ever beat this incredible whirlwind of alcohol, tears and melancholy. The lyrics are well written, and they have the art of singalong down to a science, getting to see these guys live and everyone singing and dancing along is like a religious experience.

Very similar to my reasons for RAR, Kalnoky is a modern day genius. Incredibly well written album that just has natural flow, not one duff track on this album. Yes this is ska, but this destroys and transcends the genre, making one of the best albums ever. Ska for thinkers.

Cryonics

When i first got this album, i thought that it was average, i heard all the praise it was getting, so i decided to snap it up, it just sounded like one big repetitive song, just background noise to be honest. But i gave it more of a listen, and the subtleties that litter every song just began to spring. Every guitar lick and bass fill just layered perfectly and when combined with the original vocal layout of three vocalists, make an incredible experience. The band just has a natural flow, like it was just one big jam session put to tape, the dueling guitars that wrap around each other and the song are amazing.

A gargantuan, austere beast of an album. I'd be hard pressed to find an album as written as this, and by that i mean the huge amount of effort put into this; It's not an album, this is a work of art. The lyrics are some of the best written, they make the poems i studied in English class look like 5 year olds wrote them. The songs just have this sort of stop/start pulsing nature, constantly raging, not too mention the lyrical trade offs are insanely well thought out. The CD packaging itself cannot go unnoticed, it's obvious that CTTS put huge amounts of effort into the CD inlay. I need to see these guys live. Oh yeah, Kathy sent me a letter, that's reason enough why these guys are in my top 5, isn't it?
