Summer Reading

Some of my teachers have given me books to read over the Summer holidays, this is list is them. I don't mind in the least, each and every one of them is fantastic.
1Brecht - Mother Courage

My drama teacher prescribed this so I can get ahead for next year, apparently we're going to be studying epic theatre.
2Brecht - The Caucasian Chalk Circle

Another one from my drama teacher, though she gave me this one for my own pleasure and not to study.
3Aldous Huxley - Brave New World

I'm just going to put this out there: Aldous Huxley is a fucking genius. His vision for the future in this book is nothing short of incredible and the depth in his writing is astounding.
4Mary Shelley - Frankenstein

This is one of my major texts for year 12 English. I find the subtle differences in language (you'd be amazed how much punctuation has changed since her time) are quite frustrating at times, but I'm getting used to them.
5William Gibson - Neuromancer

Gibson's style is rather abrasive and difficult to get in to, that doesn't stop me from appreciating the genius behind it though.
6David Williamson - The Removalists

Also included in this is Alexander Buzo's "Norm and Ahmed". Both of these I need to study for drama, which is actually really fun considering some of the characters are the exact opposite of me.
