Regardless of the genre or public opinion of any given band, I usually find myself listening to a wide range of albums at any given time period. These are what I've been listening to a lot lately, whether they're new discoveries or old classics (IMO). | | 10 | | Underoath Define the Great Line
Underoath get labeled as screamo a lot, and while this is obviously an accurate description of them in some respects, it doesn't do them justice. This album is really interesting, raw, and influences from classic bands like At The Drive-In are abundant in it. I forgot how much I love this album. | | 9 | | Fall Out Boy Folie a Deux
I like this album a lot. People tell me that it's awful but I really don't care. Upon analyzing this album you would find that its production is superb and the songwriting skills exhibited by it are awesome. People will probably strongly disagree with everything I just said, but that is purely a result of ignorance and a lack of the ability to admit one's true interests. I spent too much of my life denying that I liked Fall Out Boy only to eventually succomb to them. They're catchy as hell. | | 8 | | Foxy Shazam Foxy Shazam
Foxy are probably my favorite band out right now. I've already seen them live twice this year. I had to sneak into the more recent show because I am only 17, and it was more than worth it. I definitely prefer their second album overall, but for whatever reason, I always find myself listening to this one. Regardless, it's incredible. In my opinion. | | 7 | | Circa Survive Juturna
I got this album months ago, listened to it once, and was sadly not impressed for some reason. After listening to it a bunch lately, though, I really like it. | | 6 | | Dead Kennedys Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables
If you like punk and you have never listened to this album, listen to it. If you like punk but dislike this album... I'll try not to sound too arrogant, but that is just stupid. This album is an undeniable classic. | | 5 | | Touche Amore ...To The Beat Of A Dead Horse
The same friend who introduced me to Defeater introduced me to Touche. Like I say later in this list, I have a soft spot for raw emotion, and Touche is a prime example of that. | | 4 | | The Acacia Strain Continent
While this album has never blown me away, it's fun to listen to in my opinion. Upon first listen it sounds like the same song over and over again. To be honest, after listening to it countless times, it kind of still does. However, Vincent's lyrical honesty gets me. You can tell he genuinely feels the way he claims to feel. | | 3 | | Defeater Lost Ground
Just as good, if not better than the Travels LP. I think. | | 2 | | Defeater Travels
My friend got me into this band and I would probably say that they are the main reason that I just joined this website. They're amazing and I absolutely love true hardcore music like this. I have a soft spot for raw emotion. | | 1 | | Selfish Machines Pierce The Veil
I honestly think Pierce The Veil are one of the better bands out right now. People will probably disagree with me here, but I feel that they have a significantly mature writing style for being only on their second album. The arrangements on this album are awesome, and when all is said and done, I really like listening to it. | |

12.06.10 | no actually, underoath blows. its a statement of fact | peterRS
12.06.10 | I knew people on this site would disagree with a lot of this list but I really don't care to be honest. I love all of these bands a lot and try to keep an open-mind when listening to anything.
And I would say that I probably love Lost Ground and Travels equally. I just love the more melodic guitar parts on Lost Ground. |
