Jethro42 11.27.10	Wow! Awesome list, especially the first half, due to my advanced age haha. Not all the time agreed with the choice of your songs, but my list would contain like 80% of these bands. Major props for the 2nd half: 57, 58, 60, 65, 71, 72, 74, 75, 76, 83, 86.

starry 11.27.10	I would definitely strongly prefer 'When Doves Cry ' to 'Purple Rain', and Bittersweet Symphony I've always found annoying with it's repetitious nature. For Joy Division I would take one of the better songs off the Closer album. And I would take a different Simon and Garfunkel song.

Nagrarok 11.27.10	I love Heep's rich organ sound, quite similar to Deep Purple at their prime. Their lyrics can be a little cheesy though.

starry 11.27.10	I love Bright Eyes, I like many 70s ballads. Mike Batt wrote that song though, so no Paul Simon connection. Going with the more emotional epic ballads you could look at America by S&G too.

Sepstrup 12.16.10	I like the first half of your list much more than the second. Needs more indie rock and hiphop, less cheesy bands like Live, Tears for Fears etc. for my taste.
Nagrarok 12.16.10	Indie is something that goes better with the last decade for me, hip-hop has never been my thing. Also, as much as Live may have degraded later, Throwing Copper is an essential 90's album.
mandan 03.31.13	Yeah Nag, I see you tend to be the moody/introspective type when it comes to music (I would've chosen "Even Flow" as my PJ fave over "Black", though Ten pretty much rules as a whole). I've my introspective side, but am more upbeat in general.
