10.05.22 | Great stuff here. I love 1-3, 6 (my favorite band of all time), 18 (my favorite solo artist ever), 25, and 29 (my favorite rap group), and I enjoy work by 7, 10, 14, 20, 26, and 27 to various extents -- not as much as the artists I mentioned prior, but I do love OK Computer and I like The Bends (though not much else by Radiohead, outside of Pablo Honey, which has a handful of solid moments), Sabbath's first three albums are certainly terrific (I think the next two albums weren't great but had their moments, but Sabotage flat out does nothing for me at all, and I haven't even bothered to check out the two after that -- don't even get me started on Dio), the Doors' debut is classic, and every Morrison-era album has at least one song I love, the first Wu-Tang album is one of the best rap albums of all time (even if they haven't made much else that has equalled it, though I have yet to hear a truly bad album from them), AIC's Dirt is one of the best albums of the '90s (Jar of Flies was great, too), and Rush made some classic albums between 1976 and 1981 (out of that period, Moving Pictures is by far my favorite -- though Permanent Waves is a close runner-up, and 2112 is my favorite '70s album of theirs, though I will note that I always wanted to like A Farewell to Kings more than I do).
Nice list, you and I have quite a bit of common ground. 😀 |
