10.22.10 | you could talk about the physical sales problems in the record industry these days...seems controversial enough and a topic one could write pages and pages about. |

10.22.10 | Do it on the whole PMRC censorship debacle? The idea of free legal downloads (Gama Bomb, Radiohead, etc.). The influence myspace has had on band promotion and the music industry? |
SymbolicActs
10.22.10 | You could write about how the mainstream percieves heavy metal, cliches that exist within it, and talk about bands that shatter those cliches, lyrically and musically. That's what I'd write about anyway. |

10.22.10 | Thank you all for the ideas! @SymbolicActs I actually really like that idea. I never thought of it lol. |

10.22.10 | Most controversial topic in music?
Radiohead vs Opeth
Go. (Yes I know that's a fucking awful comparison but they're both the critic's babydolls).
On a sidenote, I would myself write a paper about how the majority of people listen to music that is prepackaged specifically for mass consumption while there are tens of thousands of bands that are much better, yet largely go unnoticed. Maybe write about how media influences people to continue listening to what they do. That's more of a sociology paper nothing that controversial though. |
