10.13.10 | When i went to Dragoncon this year, there was an exhibit explaining all the work that went into making Akira, and i loved the movie before that, but i had a newfound respect for it after seeing that. 350,000 hand painted cells went into the making of that film, each one with so much detail. In ever scenery shot you can see an individually painted figure in almost all of the windows of every visible building.
It's crazy. |

10.13.10 | Yeah, Studio Ghibi is incredible. I've seen most of Miyazaki's films, with the only exceptions that I can think of being Howls Moving Castle and My Neighbour Totoro. Nausicaa was awesome, but I prefer Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away by just a bit. |

10.13.10 | wtf Pixar is fucking amazing, fuck anyone who says otherwise. Up was the only movie that ever brought me close to crying.

Hyperion1001
10.13.10 | Howls Moving Castle was great too, you should watch that. I still need top see Nuassica though.
But get on Akira first, on a big, huge TV. :-) |

10.13.10 | All three are awesome. Studio Ghibi makes some great films, the only one I don't really care for is Laputa: Castle in the Sky. But Nausicaa, Mononke, Spirted Away, Grave of Fireflies, and Totoro are five of my favorite films of all times. |
ButcheredChildren
