| Artists That Got Me Into Music
These are the 6 bands that got me into music (in general, not a specific genre) | 1 | Thrice
My love for music basically started with "See you in the Shallows" by them. The Illusion of Safety was my first album I bought. I still listen to them often, and I'm eagerly awaiting the new album | 2 | At the Drive-in
While I was reading sites about Thrice, someone mentioned these guys. And they basically became my favorite band, and still are to a certain extent. | 3 | System of a Down
Was my first touch of metal along with Slipknot. I'm not really into metal, (except for some Opeth, Arsis and some metalcore and never was) but I still listen to Toxicity and the S/T often. | 4 | Slipknot
My friend introduced me to these masked clowns I liked the cheesy lyrics and catchy riffs. I still listen to vol. 3 sometimes. | 5 | The Fall of Troy
The first band I got into through Sputnik, if I recall correctly it was due to a refference in a Thrice review or something. I still listen to them often and they basically introduced me to Emo. | 6 | Sum 41
Catchy pop-punk = Fun :). I still enjoy some songs from "Chuck". | |

01.24.07 | 1. Thrice: If I could name one track that got me into music, then it's "See you in the Shallows". I loved every moment of it when I first got it. The first album I ever bought was The Illusion of Safety, and I still love it. Thrice was also the band brought me to Sputnik, the community that basically shaped my listening behavior the last 6 months :).
2. At the Drive-in: While browsing sites for info about Thrice someone on a message board recommended these guys, so I checked them out and I loved them, and they're still one of my favorite bands now. I also listen to TMV because of them.
3. System of a Down: My first metal-esque band together with slipknot. Got into them by hearing Chop Suey that was the music for some video. Still sometimes listen to Toxicity and their S/T, which are both pretty decent albums
4. Slipknot: I don't really know how I got into them, but it was at around the same time as System, and I loved them. I kinda grew out of them really fast while discovering new music through this website, but they were still essential in my on-going musical revolution.
5. The Fall of Troy: I don't really know how I started listening to them, but what I do know was that the first track I heard was "Reassurance Rest in the Sea", which is still my favorite track by them. Through them, with the help of this site I started listening to some Emo. I still like them alot
6. Sum 41: Again, I discovered them by hearing "No Reason" as the music for some video. I kinda grew out of them fast but "Chuck" was I think the first album I downloaded, and it opened I world for me (Yes, I buy alot of music too :)) | Inflames

4 and 6 fail miserably. | Wyko
01.25.07 | True, 4 and 6 are the two bands from this I listen to the less, I think I haven't listenend to Sum 41 in 4 months. But they still have some catchy tunes :). | XTA
