Punk in Drublic
1994: This is the album that got NOFX a lot of attention, almost to the point of a major recordlabel deal. This album is arguably their greatest. Although I may personally prfer So Long and Thanks for all the Shoes, this was the first dent NOFX made. Sure, the prior album White Trash was good, but the production and feel of the music is just overall better. Great songs include Linoleum, Leave it Alone, Dig, Dying Degree, Lori Meyers, Perfect Government, Reeko ect. | | 2 |  | Pennywise
About Time
1995: The last Pennywise album before the tragic suicide of bassist Jason Thirsk, this album blew my mind. Thier first was good, but wasn't perfect. Unknown Road was good, but many fans are split whether its their best or their worst. About Time has a great prducion value for an idependent label, and the lyrics and song writing capabilites of Pennywise are just omb here. Best songs include Peaceful Day, Every Single Day, Searching, Same Old Story, I Won't Have It ect. | | 3 |  | Good Riddance

Let's Talk About Feelings
1998: I didn't care for their first 2 albums, and Hoss was a little uneven in parts. Double Plaidinum was quite experimental, having drop guitar tunings and acoustic parts. This album just felt both musically and lyrically perfect for Lagwagon standards. The movie sound excerpts are great. It may be go and see the best movie ever. Less Talk, More Rock
1996: While we may not see eye to eye on politics 100% of the time, this album is their best for their pop punk days. The music is very refreshing sounding and you can tell they tried really hard to make people think while having a good time. Best songs: Less Talk, More Rock,Refusing to Be a Man, The State Lottery, Anchorless, I Was a Preteen Mcarthyist ect. | | 6 |  | No Use For a Name
!Leche Con Carne!
1995: Originally I didn't care about this band, but this album alone made me want to see them live. Tony Sly's vocals are great (although they are nocticably inspired by Greg Gaffin). The lyrcis and music are pretty dark, and are about abuse, hate, dysfunctioanl families and disease. The solos are great too. Best songs: Alone, Wood, Straight from the Jacket, Soulmate, Fatal Flue ect. | | 7 |  | The Offspring
Smash
1994: The band that gave Epitaph the attention it deserved, this band has been given a lot of crap. Yes, they've sucked this past decade, but Ixnay on the Hombre was a great album, and Americana was good too, even if MTV made it embarassing for punk fans to wear Offspring shirts. Smash's production values aren't the best compared to later Epitaph bands, but the songs are equally badass and catchy. Best songs: Self Esteem, Something to Believe In, Smash, Bad Habit, Killboy Powerhead, ect. | | 8 |  | Rancid
...And Out Come the Wolves
1995: I don't know what to think of Rancid's newest album from 2009, but I know Rancid was THE most punk thing most suburban white kids knew about. They had mohawks and tatoos, and stereotypes helped grow that out of control. This album has a lot of punk songs, mixed with some ska (Operation Ivy), with complex bass lines and excellent guitar riffs and singing. Best songs: Ruby Soho, Listed MIA, Journey to the End of the East Bay, Old Friend, Roots Radical ect. | | 9 |  | Strung Out
Twisted by Design
1998: This album changed my life. I overlooked it when I first heard it, but the singing talent of Jason Cruz, the overly complex guitar solos and fast paced drumming really got to me. This was very different sounding from most 1990's punk bands, and their talent puts others to shame. The overall songs are great too, filled with emotion and vivid imagery. Black Sails in the Sunset
1999: AFI was a great band. This album mixed their hardcore/punk sound with gothic imagery and old romantic american literature. It was sick to lsiten too back then, and is still great now. Best songs: Exsanguination, Malleus Maleficarum, The Last Kiss, God Called in Sick Today ect. | |
