09.22.10 | some of my favorite songs lyrically from the band, but not my actual favorite songs. Most here are from my lyrically favorite album of all time, A to B Life, with a few from Catch For Us the Foxes, Brother Sister and even one from their newest record. Enjoy the few fans of the band. |

09.22.10 | these guys are something else thats for sure. Cant decide whether I really like them or not. I know that I dont dislike it. |
americanmusicmachine
09.22.10 | cool to see "son of a widow" on here. I wouldn't have put so many songs from a-->b life on here but oh well! |
Foxhound
09.22.10 | pos |
LegendofPittman
09.22.10 | Aaron Weiss is probably my favorite lyricist. Dude is smart. |
VicariousIntent
09.22.10 | Love this list. I would have included stuff from Wolf Am I(And Shadow), Bullet To Binary and maybe The Lightness And The Rain. Still a great list. |
Jonnyborg
09.22.10 | I really love that line from silencer.
there's also this part from the end of C-minor:
she came back for the oats
but she brought along a "friend"/the harder the rain,/the lower the flowers in the garden bend/I'd rather never talk again/than to continue to pretend/that this never ends
It's no so much the lyrics but the delivery. holy crap. |
WeepingBanana
09.22.10 | dryness and the rain... come on
a fish swims in the sea while the sea is in a certain sense contained within the fish aww what am i to think when all the writings of 1000 life times can not explain if all the forest trees were pens and all the oceans ink
i just got chills typing that |
Slum
09.22.10 | My list would be much different but these lyrics are great nonetheless. Can't expect anything below fantastic from mwY though. |
NeutralThunder12
09.22.10 | yeah guys, C Minor is awesome as well. Wolf am I was actually really close to making the list by the way. |
RippingCorpse2
09.22.10 | do these guys worship Satan? |
NeutralThunder12
09.22.10 | no, actually, quite the opposite. Most of their lyrics, especially on Brother Sister are religiously charged, while their newest focuses on famous tales and legends from the past. A to B Life and Catch For Us The Foxes also have religious themes but the awesomeness of the lyrics on both those records really comes from the metaphors |
RippingCorpse2
09.22.10 | oh. Fail then. |
RippingCorpse
09.22.10 | cant have music without satan |
NeutralThunder12
09.22.10 | i guess so |

09.22.10 | I read an article about mwY that said they once got an a little back and forth with another christian band that resulted in aaron weiss getting menstration blood from a girl and throwing it in the face of the guitarist of the other band. that sounds pretty devilish to me. |
NeutralThunder12
09.22.10 | holy shit thats weird

09.22.10 | "Aaron Weiss has been known to be very, very naughty. In fact, the whole band has.
Once, as a prank, another Christian band biblically plagued the mewithoutYou tour bus with crickets, fish and mice bought from a pet store.
A mewithoutYou acolyte and seminary student named Nikki Kleinberg--then working as cook and lighting engineer--retaliated by throwing a cup of "menstrual piss" in the face of the other band's tour manger.
Then there was the incident when the band doused a dead squirrel with lighter fuel and tossed it--spewing smoke and sparks--into the disbelieving faces of yet another Christian band.
Memories are hazy, but it seems pretty certain Aaron was the dead squirrel tosser."
eh i was a lil' wrong about the details but anyway still funny

09.23.10 | 9 should be 1.
also The Soviet --
"Turn your ear, musician, to silence
because they only come out when it's quiet,
their tails brushing over your eyelids -
wake up, sleeper, and rise from the dead!
Or the fur that they shed will cover your bed in a delicate orange-ish cinnamon red."

NeutralThunder12
09.23.10 | soviet is great. O Porcupine is one o my favorite mwy songs but not lyrically top 10 |
Eko

tombits
09.23.10 | "Nice and Blue, Pt. 2" guys, come on.
then I saw a mountain and I saw a city
steadily sinking but suspiciously calm
it wasn't an end, it wasn't a beginning
but a ceaseless stumbling on
there, strapped like a watch on my wrist
that's finished with gold but can't tell the time
was all or what little pleasure exists
seductively sold and uselessly mine |
SoapySoap
09.23.10 | 4 is the shit. |

Thane
04.23.11 | She was graceful and green as a stem,
but I walk heavy on delicate ground.
Oh, there I go showing off again.
Self-impressed by how well I can put myself down...
and there I go again, to the next further removed
level of that same exact feigned humility, and this
for me goes on and on to the point of nausea
Shadow am I!
Like a suspicion that's never confirmed but it's never denied
Wolf am I!
No, "shadow" I think is better,
cus' I'm not something, more like the absence of something
So Shadow am I!
i love this. the delivery is just amazing. good list man. |
