Current Favorite Albums

My current favorites.
1Brand New
The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

I started listening to Brand New after I saw them on the top albums of the decade. I must say, it is possibly
the best album I've ever heard.
2Animal Collective
Merriweather Post Pavilion

Same as the above. I love the sound and the beat to everyone of their songs. My personal favorites are "My
Girls", "Summertime Clothes", and "Lion in a Coma".
3Thrice
The Alchemy Index Vols. I & II

I liked Thrice before the Decade list came out, but not like this. I only had a couple of their songs. This is
their best album in my opinion. Vols. III and IV didn't really do it for me.
4Sufjan Stevens
Illinois

I picked up Illinois at the library. I thought, well, I'll check it out. I am incredibly glad I did. This album
wound up to be one of the most fun I've experienced.
5The Decemberists
The Crane Wife

This was almost my number one, and it would have been, if I had not stumbled upon the Decade list. I love
the folk-rock sound they have, and "Sons and Daughters" is one of the catchiest tunes I've heard in a long
time.
6Radiohead
OK Computer

Of course this has to be on my list. It's OK Computer, the album that could beat Sgt. Pepper to a bloody
pulp. Although not my favorite album, still a fantastic one at that.
7Modest Mouse
The Moon & Antarctica

I was introduced to Modest Mouse by my clarinet section leader last year. I really started to like them, and I
realized "Float On" is not their best song (obviously).
8The National
Boxer

I love Boxer. This is an album that anyone can enjoy, friends, family, even your grandparents might like it.
It's just got a flow and feel that no other band can seem to catch.
9Gorillaz
Plastic Beach

Although many people are disappointed with the Gorillaz's new release, I was very happy. I loved every song
except four. "On Melancholy Hill" has got to be the best Gorillaz song.
10Porcupine Tree
Fear of a Blank Planet

Porcupine Tree is my favorite band. I know this isn't at the top, but they are still my favorite. I believe that
Fear of a Blank Planet is their best, In Absentia is good, but not this good.
