12The Rolling Stones
Exile on Main Street

Ys

Outlandish medieval tales brought to life by a she-gnome with an enormous talent for songwriting and the harp. Couldn't recommend more. For a period of time, this would have been in my #1 spot.
4Jethro Tull
Thick as a Brick

The best prog album ever. Jethro Tull are possibly the only band that can make a 40 minute song with little to no boring sections. The first three minutes are complete musical euphoria, rarely matched in my three years and nearly 250 albums of music listening.
3Neutral Milk Hotel
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

I'm astounded by how this album continues to grow on me. From the beginning I felt it was pretty close to a classic, and its power on me grows even more with every listen. I am awed by how... I can't even explain it. Just go out and buy this right now, because if you haven't heard this, you cannot truly call yourself a fan of music. Classic.
2Bob Dylan
Blood on the Tracks

Hands down the best Dylan album and possibly the greatest folk album of all-time, Blood on the Tracks is a heart wrenching album of relationship problems and beautiful music. "Tangled Up in Blue" and "Idiot Wind" rank among my favorite songs of all time. Dylan is a genius.
1Radiohead
OK Computer

Need I even elaborate? Radiohead used to be one of those bands I "didn't get" and I couldn't understand why they received such praise. Of course, at that point I had only heard "Creep" and some of the In Rainbows singles like "House of Cards." One day I gave into the hype and checked out OK Computer from my local library. I was so incredibly infatuated with it that I forgot to rip it to my computer, and thus I have been apart from this album for a long time, but absence makes the heart grow fonder. Need to buy for myself.
