09.11.10 | Converged seems to be very popular, I'll definatley check them out soon |

09.11.10 | I don't know if you should go right from Killswitch to Converge |
Dryden
09.11.10 | if he does he better not go back ro killswitch ever again |

09.11.10 | Don't start with Jane Doe for Converge for the thousandth time. Start with either Axe to Fall or You Fail Me. Your ears aren't ready for the carnage that is Jane Doe. |

09.11.10 | Botch - We are the romans [2] |

09.11.10 | I started with Jane Doe, Haven't heard too much of it, but I gotta say that Concubine is my favorite from what I've heard |

09.11.10 | August Burns Red, Botch, Converge, TDEP... All of Sputnik's favorites. My personal fave is ABR.
And I like your attitude. |

09.11.10 | Caliban seems to be a band you'd like, not the best but seems like you'd transition nicely into them. Definitely check out Botch - We are the Romans along with Converge - Jane Doe. May take you a while to like those though. |
Outnumbered
09.11.10 | I think I'll start with Axe to Fall for Converge because it's more recent and I'll go from there.
It's okay if it takes some time to get into, sometimes that's what good music requires. |

09.11.10 | Zao- The Funeral of God, Parade of Chaos, The Fear is What Keeps Us Here
metalcore essentials. |
JWT155
09.11.10 | YES, how'd I forget Zao. |
whywontyoudie
09.11.10 | i was wondering how anyone forgot Zao. metalcore traces back to Zao, newcomers need to learn the roots. |
JWT155
09.11.10 | Liberate to Ex Inferis and Where Blood and Fire Bring Rest are my fave. |
whywontyoudie
09.11.10 | those are the 2 that i haven't really listened to much. The Fear is What Keeps Us Here is at the top for me though. their most recent release wasn't too shabby for a band that didn't really change anything about their music. |
JWT155
09.11.10 | Definitely check those out man, it's their earlier stuff, a lot more rawer production but definitely gives you a look into what these guys were doin in the early 90's when this genre really didn't exist yet. |
whywontyoudie
09.11.10 | i more than likely will in the next couple of days. trying to recover the entirety of bands i care about since i got a new computer. gonna give those 2 a listen in the process. |

09.11.10 | "newcomers need to learn the roots."
Good point, Zao's high on my list then. |
Phrike
09.11.10 | terrible list |

09.11.10 | Lmfao at the guy who says metalcore traces back to Zao. It started with crossover thrash, then bands like Strife, Earth Crisis etc. |

09.11.10 | ya what a fag |

09.11.10 | The irony of him saying people need to know the roots |

whywontyoudie
09.11.10 | ConsiderPhlebas, i was kind of referring to the sound that metalcore has, which was mainly because of older metalcore bands like Zao. guess i could've pointed that out a little better though. |

09.11.10 | Idiots. Everybody here only listens to the same boring shit. Sputnik you all suck! |
Gorification
09.11.10 | the powerless rise is the shit, and killswitch's as daylight dies is good. tdwp's ep is good, for them, but i dont consider myself a fan of their music. and i hate underoath. |
whywontyoudie
09.11.10 | Outnumbered, listen to Every Time I Die if you haven't already. |

09.11.10 | ughh... if you REALLY want metalcore then:
Poison the Well - Opposite of December
Skycamefalling - 10.21
SikTh - Let the Transmitting Begin
7 Angels 7 Plagues - Jhazmyne's Lullabye
Between the Buried and Me - The Silent Circus (kind of metalcore. their other releases have no -core whatsoever except their self titled which sucks ass)
Converge - Jane Doe (barely metalcore by these standards, but then again, there is no good metalcore by these standards)
Botch - Anthology of Dead Ends EP (good place to start with this band. also barely metalcore)
Cave In - Until Your Heart Stops
Every Time I Die - Hot Damn! (not very good, but worth checking out)
Fear Before the March of Flames - The Always Open Mouth (more experimental emo then metalcore but its really good. hopefully this could expand your tastes) |

09.12.10 | that sucks. metalcoar is pathetic. real metal has passion, energy, and substance. metalcoar is a whining watered down attempt at copying metal which fails. and boy is it an epic fail. before you attempt to rebutt, understand that what i said isn't my opinion, it's fact (not to sound ignorant) that i will gladly support with evidence if you choose to carry the argument further. metalcoar is obviously influenced by metal but it really does trade out the passionate energy of real metal for lame rehashed attempts at originality, resulting in an extremely cheesy sound that would only appeal to those who are inexperienced to real metal (i.e.most of sputnik and a vast majority of the human race), the "growls" are pathetic and sound like every angst-ridden run of the mill hXc vocalist, nothing like the unique vocals of one such as chuck schuldiner. and the whines are what ruin the music altogether. see opeth "orchid" or "morningrise" for how clean vocals should be done in extreme metal. when i vent about how much i hate metalcoar it's not to anger all the little metalcoars like you, it's sheerly to vent my frustration of a despicable genre which mocks music that i love. |

09.13.10 | shoesoup...just shut up. you dont even know how to spell metalcore. i cant take your opinion seriously when you block out a whole genre. i have to admit most metalcore bands do suck, and most do sound way too alike. and most have gay, emo singing parts. there are good ones out there though. so just shut up, cause your rant isnt going to stop anybody from listening to it. |
