| A List In All Honesty
I'm writing this because I have strong convictions, and I guess
some of the music I listen to comes off as cheesy, but I really
believe in a lot of it. Long story short, I've had a very unusual life
up until now to say the least, and music is the closest thing I have
to a religion. It's my beliefs, my hopes, my feelings, everything.
Music is how I express myself, how I cope, how I relax, how I
love. I'm growing increasingly disgusted with my peers and their
lack of morality, and it's ultimately keeping me from really opening
up to anyone. I feel like I'm older than everyone around me, and
not necessarily in a good sense. I have difficulty relating with
others and being related to. Hell, I don't even know why I'm
writing this right now. I suppose I just want to put it out there
and see if anyone feels the same. List is recent digs. | | 1 | | The Felix Culpa Sever Your Roots | | 2 | | Title Fight The Last Thing You Forget | | 3 | | Balance And Composure Split CD | | 4 | | Punchout! New Chapter | | 5 | | Within The Ruins Invade | |

08.31.10 | Thanks to anyone who reads the entire thing; I know it's long and tedious, possibly even naive. | MUNGOLOID
08.31.10 | i feel you man. | JustJoe.
08.31.10 | Dude...
Pretty spot on description of my life. Cheers, Winsomniac. | Winsomniac
08.31.10 | I just feel like nobody believes in the things I do. Which is disgusting to me, because while people can call me an idealist all they want, it takes a change in cultural priorities to solve a lot of our current problems, and too many people seem content to just ignore them. I'm not saying I really go out and try to change the world every day, but so many people seem like they just don't care about others. At all. And that's what's really fucked up to me. | JustJoe.
08.31.10 | Well that's simply because a lot of people don't. They're oblivious, and content with that. It's tough to stomach how cold and unaware people can get, but what's important is your own foundation and center. Once you establish that strong base for yourself, people will pick up on that, and the ones that grow to love and respect you will do just that. Some may even start believing in what you believe. Who knows. The important thing is that music will always be here. Fuck everything else. | crazyblinddude
08.31.10 | I'm loving 1 right now.
And no need to thank me for reading it. I understand where you're coming from with this. I often use music as my escape. In my opinion, I feel you have a better understanding of yourself and others around you if you're able to appreciate music to a certain degree, which is more than most people you will ever meet. In a way it can reflect who you are. | WeepingBanana
08.31.10 | i went to a high school full of all rich snotty douche bags who had no self awareness or anything. it fucking sucks | Winsomniac
08.31.10 | Yeah, I listen to a lot of music. Like I said, the way I grew up, music became what basically raised
me. I dunno, it's just lately, people without convictions disgust me. And people who simply disregard
others, or are for whatever reason incapable of thinking of others, and act without considering how
their actions may affect others at all just generally pisses me off.
Edit: Weeping, right there with you. High schoolers are fake as shit. | Dryden
08.31.10 | i did too exept i picked fights with them | Winsomniac
08.31.10 | 'Because there are things upon this Earth we as human beings were not meant to endure, like being subject to an overall judgmental society. It makes me sick to know my life will be represented by the world we're in now. Get me out.'

08.31.10 | I absolutely relate to this. You're not alone. Music is everything to me...it's the only thing that's been there in my darkest moments, without fail. It has changed my way of looking at the world and it has, in effect, shaped my life and future, as I'm going to college for music.
I completely understand being fed up with your peers' lack of morality. It can be truly lonely to be the mature one when your peers are all different, but you have to hold your head high and know what you're doing is right. There are others like you out there, you just haven't found them yet. I have no doubt we would be good friends if I was among your peers...I feel the same way as you. But there's nothing wrong with music being your friend either. | porch
08.31.10 | have no idea what you're talking about tbh

08.31.10 | I'm with you on this as well. Don't worry though, pretty soon you'll accept that nothing is going to change because of the totalitarian government that rules the world via the airwaves, and you'll arrive in a blissful state of cynicism. Like me :D | Maniac!
08.31.10 | In terms of coping mechanisms, music has always been there for me too. Also, philosophy has been useful to me for relaxing. Call me a nerd, I guess. I don't know if you're into that, but reading with some light music playing is probably the best relaxation from the real world that I have found. | Inveigh
08.31.10 | "reading with some light music playing is probably the best relaxation from the real world that I have found"
huh, and to think I've just been taking percocet and masturbating in the shower for all these years | Maniac!
08.31.10 | Well porn and masturbation were an implied #1 |
