Intothepit 08.27.10	Agnostic Front isn't all that special or anything, but they are extremely forceful with their production, lyrical content, vocals, and Stigma's the fucking man. Therefore, this band deserves all of the praise it gets.

Intothepit 08.27.10	The bands from the youth crew movement(Youth of Today, 7 Seconds, Gorilla Biscuits, Mouthpiece) were the ones that inspired the melodic hardcore bands of today, so I'd rec checking those out specifically. There a bit more aggressive and don't have as much "melody," but it's definitely there.

BigHans 08.27.10	I'll have to go on a hardcore downloading binge some day. I recently got Verse, Defeater, and Ignite. The Ignite fucking ruled too, although I cannot see how they can be considered Hardcore with their clean vocals. They sound mroe punk to me.
Intothepit 08.27.10	Well, Ignite's earlier stuff had more of a hardcore sound and feel to it, but their more recent stuff is more punk than anything else. Vocals don't make hardcore, though.

ConsiderPhlebas 08.27.10	Even Pennywise class themselves as hardcore. It's more about the ethos and attitude I guess. Ignite were always supportive of direct action towards preventing environmental destruction and animal rights issues etc. They also have the lyric "Put down your guns Punk! Put up your dukes son!"

Intothepit 08.27.10	You're right. My comment earlier was said in jest. Verse isn't better than a lot of bands because they really only released one "great" album. That album just happens to have a lot of meaning for me considering where I was in life when I discovered it, hence the necessary fapping over it.
