bailar12 08.27.10	Mj for one started the ctts bs. all of those gimmick accounts like oliversykes, maynardjameskeenan, users who make an account to flame a reviewer in one post and never post again, and most people who tend to replicate what is already done like fromtheinside said. and tbh i havent actually even spammed images in more than i a few weeks, if im not mistaken. i may have commented in the troll threads but i think ive posted like 3 images this entire week.

To me, a troll is a troll. It ruins what everyone else on here is trying to discuss. It interrupts people's conversations for the sake of one being funny. Yes, the thought of a troll-free site is basically a Utopian thought, but c'mon man.

porch 08.27.10	Every prospective new user should have to complete a simple IQ test. If you fail, you get redirected to 4chan. Also, anybody who relies on retarded 4chan memes gets permabanned. That should take care of about 3/4 of the recent new users

sniper 08.27.10	I just think the userbase has gotten too big recently and the small-community feeling that it had when I joined is gone, in favor of smaller cliques that hang out in certain threads and post stupid spam and inside jokes (i.e. bc13, Jane Doe, Emery for a while, etc.). I'm not saying I'm not somewhat guilty of this, but it almost seems like now you HAVE to be in one of those stupid cliques to be an accepted member of the community. Idk if there's even a way to fix it, but it still sucks. People used to talk about music here a lot more than they do now. Every time an album I like gets its thread bumped I go check to see if it's worth discussing but its usually somewhat just showing up two weeks late to a spam-fest that was only arguably funny in the first place. I like it here, but I miss the atmosphere from a year or two ago. Not blaming any of the new users in particular though, it's mostly the sheer number of them that caused the problem.

GodspeedEmperor 08.27.10	as a proud member of this website since 1992, i can say that i remember Sputnik's true Golden Age. back then, users carried themselves with dignity and treated each other with respect. indeed, we'd have the most wondrous discussions about music and life, and everyone was ever so friendly and helpful. why i recall waking up each morning to a warm cup of coffee and reading over John Hanson's latest insights into the state of the music industry. we would prance about, sniffing the air to catch a scent of one another's putrescent buttholes. those were grand times. since then a dark cloud has descended upon the once-happy lands of Sputnik, however. hideous mutant trolls and uber-faggots of all stripes plague and bedevil us at every turn, spamming CTTS threads, creating useless lists -- spreading their mischief far and wide. they do not heed the Mods' gentle requests to "take it to the forums, guys". no longer can we walk the streets alone at night. god bless JimmyFerwerda, though, for these anti-trolling reforms are the only way to bring peace back to our noble republic
