witchxrapist 08.13.10	Hahaha, nice. I normally either record while tripping, but I guess I was just super stressed (yay panic disorder) and felt this compulsion to make something tranquil that reminded me of ATSS's noise stuff.

ConsiderPhlebas 08.13.10	I have no idea what you're talking about, Bitchfork. I am very drunk, though. I'll say this though: noise and ambient aren't always about anything, even emotion. It's possible to express and explore ideas and themes through purely instrumental music. When Eno released Ambient 1 it was designed to be versatile, left in the background for people to engage with subliminally in whatever situation they found themselves. It wasn't just the simple dictation of the composer's emotion.
Bitchfork 08.13.10	Yeah but that work relates to the whole relationship of man's longing and his mentality, as well as innovation and boredom. As you said, it's a simple dictation of the composer's emotion, but it's put into such a form that it's completely universal. The only reason that album works so well is because of the thought put into the purpose.

ConsiderPhlebas 08.13.10	Well, I said it wasn't the dictation of emotion, man. And even if it was, I don't think something as open and expansive as that record can be pinned down to one definition. Your interpretation is interesting and plausible, but to me, it's not about answers, it's about possibility. Although stylistically nothing like classical, it shares that genre's ability to tell a story without words, and that story can change every time. There is a wealth of emotion in it, yes, but if all noise/ambient could offer was the sound of emotion, then the genre/style would be brutally limited.
