I've been away for a while, because I've been travelling back to
Singapore, where I live. The place sucks and I hate it. Below are a

Nobody can drive in Singapore. Drivers never have any idea what the hell's
going on, so getting around is impossible. So if you don't want to stand in
overcrowded trains, you have to get in a taxi, where you encounter both of

Of Love and Lunacy
All anyone wants over here is to be better than everyone else. In other
places people will at least pretend that they don't feel superior to others,
but in Singapore they will clearly indicate, by their mannerisms, that you are

Slave Design
This problem is on my street in particular. People will stand around in large
groups right in the middle of the sidewalk, smoking cigarettes. I would just
walk in the street, but nobody ever stops for pedestrians here, so I'm
either dealing with these people or getting run over. They do it JUST TO

She never outlined the life in Singapore that drastic and negative... though the traffic thing alone would piss me off as hell. I love to drive and people driving like headless chickens is just... 08.08.10 | @FadeToBlack: I also lived in Austria for a while, and I easily integrated into that culture. I learned to speak German and could get along very well with the people. I tried to do something similar here, but I just couldn't identify. I have attempted to learn some Chinese, but that didn't work out so well. | Kiran
08.08.10 | singapore rules dude, you're crazy. i love the way they speak english. conversing with taxi drivers is pure entertainment. the trains are excellent (two stops from where i used to live to orchard) and clean and not overcrowded (if you've ever lived/been to london you'll know dirty and crowded trains). idk, i love singapore, it sucked to move away. the only real downside is the fact clarke quay sucks so clubbing got boring, but the bars and hawker centres more than make up for it. | StreetlightRock
