08.03.10 | Hurt is one of the best covers of all time, hands down.
List needs more Richard Cheese though ;-) |
geng
08.03.10 | Hahahaha, I love Richard Cheese but I think he would need his own list. People=Shit is a personal favourite. |
Erratic
08.03.10 | Love 3 |

08.03.10 | some good stuff here, 7 stands out to me. I think he was 70 or so when he did that, I reckon it's cool he'd cover a song by a band so much younger and not just dismiss all modern music as shit. 2 is sweet too |
geng
08.03.10 | Apparantly Rick Rubin just gave Cash a bunch of songs by modern bands to cover and said "play these". Really poignant as it was pretty much a man singing on his death bed. Although you can't beat Trent Reznor playing it live with nothing but a piano. |
Chrisjon89
08.03.10 | I'm not as familiar with the original, but I read that Reznor was blown away when he watched the video |
Yotimi
08.03.10 | 5 is ok but doesn't come close to the original. Same with 7. 2&3 are great. |
geng
08.03.10 | Yeah, he said the song now belongs to Cash. |
Inveigh
08.03.10 | Deftones - No Ordinary Love
Deftones - Simple Man
Anthrax - Antisocial
Metallica - like, all of them
Slayer - Dissident Aggressor
and of course... Hit Me Baby One More Time by August Burns Red
all of those should be on here man, it's so obvious |
geng
08.03.10 | Haven't heard any of those Inveigh. And what songs have Metallica covered other than Whisky In The Jar (which is shit compared to the original) and So What? |
Inveigh
08.03.10 | I was just kidding around with that last comment, but as far as Metallica goes, my favorite covers of theirs are
Sabra Caddabra (Black Sabbath cover/medley)
Turn the Page (Bob Seger cover)
Mercyful Fate (Mercyful Fate medley)
Last Caress
Die Die My Darling (both Misfits covers)
The Prince
Helpless
It's Electric
Am I Evil? (all Diamond Head covers)
Breadfan (Budgie cover)
Astronomy (Blue Oyster Cult cover)
Garage, Inc. was a double disc covers album, the first disc recorded in 1998 and the 2nd disc compiled from their 1980s B-Side covers and the Garage Days Re-Visited EP from like 1987. |
Inveigh
08.03.10 | also, as much as I love the hell out of Thin Lizzy, I do actually prefer Metallica's version of Whiskey in the Jar haha, it's just tighter and ballsier. |
Maniac!
08.03.10 | 1 is pretty damn cool. and that's coming from a zeppelin fanboy |
Hyperion1001
08.03.10 | Nevermore's cover of The Sound of Silence is the best cover song ever recorded. |
