07.31.10 | I feel the same way about writing sometimes. I try to write something every night, regardless of whether or not I'm "feeling it." That way, once the juices start flowing I'm ready.
Guinness FTW. |

07.31.10 | try learning some shit that is totally different than what you have played in the past. |

for me i've been learning protest the hero and wretched songs. they utilize everything i've learned and really challenge me so they keep me intrigued. that's just what i've learned, find something that is the same for you! |

eternium

07.31.10 | only learn to sweep if you're going to take the time and not give up. learning to sweep might further discourage you because its frustrating as shit when you first start and it takes a while to figure out but after you learn how it's literally like the easiest fucking thing. |
Edwin
07.31.10 | Thanks lads. Sweeping is the one thing I've never attempted, so I might dedicate the weekend to getting stuck into learning. |

07.31.10 | Listen to a shitload of music you've never heard before, maybe even try to expand your boundaries a little. |

07.31.10 | Mess around with some new tones. Clean tones with different effects always seem to inspire a bit more creativity with my writing... The clean tone's a good break from the riffage, then going back to the riffing just seems easy and welcome |
Aids
07.31.10 | The same thing happened to me, I got too boxed in with my playing. Learning some theory, like different modes or scales, helped me because it showed me different tonal approaches. Try that out I suppose. |

07.31.10 | its good to take a bit of a break, and just listen to some new music. forcing yourself to learn/write something new wont do much good, you need to actually feel inspired to do so. its alright to just chill and take it easy for a bit. |
