07.25.10 | digs* |
Captain North
07.25.10 | It was great and very inventive, but it could have been more than it was so it was still kind of disappointing. But only a bit, since it's still one of the best blockbuster movies around. |
AnotherBrick
07.25.10 | just saw that a couple hours ago, probably my 2nd favorite movie now. (behind the matrix)
so do you think it was all a dream or was it reality? |
Piglet
07.25.10 | I think dream because he's a stoner and so is everyone else in the movie |
8bit
07.25.10 | It was awesome. |
Captain North
07.25.10 | Reality, because I really don't think it was that mind-bending a movie.
I read a review recently that suggested the whole thing is a metaphor for the film industry, which was pretty interesting I thought. |
AnotherBrick
07.25.10 | i cant decide which one i think it was. the kids at the end were wearing the exact same things they were throughout his entire memory of them and doing the exact same thing, except this time they actually turned around.
but the top was starting to sway which makes me think it could of been reality |
ShadowAmI
07.25.10 | not even joking, one of the best movies i have ever seen. |
Captain North
07.25.10 | I think what stops it from being 'best movie ever' sort of thing for me, is that it never really did anything on a philosophical or moral level. It just had some really cool plot and visual ideas. There wasn't really anything deeper.
Also, DiCaprio's character is the only one that is ever really developed at all. Saito and Fischer have hints of development, and Arthur is shown to perhaps have a crush on the chick, but thats only for one scene and is never broached again. |
BigTuna
07.25.10 | ^the lack of character development (besides Cobb) makes me think the whole movie is Cobb's dream |
Captain North
07.25.10 | Or...y'know, that could just be an excuse you're attributing to sloppy writing. But I know what you're saying, I'm just weary of giving the movie more credit than it deserves. |
Edwin
07.25.10 | Yep, BigTuna knows what's up. Totally agree. |
Edwin
07.25.10 | And I think the whole idea behind the spinning top at the end is that Cobb just didn't care what was dream and what was reality anymore. He was fretting over the top all movie, then just walked away from it. That said, I still think he was dreaming. |
InFiction
07.25.10 | I'm probably gonna go see it soon. Do you think I should see it aolone as well? |
BigTuna
07.25.10 | Movie is overhyped yes, but it still rules. And Christopher Nolan doesn't write poorly, especially when it's something like character development. He's one of those directors who is meticulously meticulous. |
Yazz_Flute
07.25.10 | nah Hot Tub Time Machine is the best movie this year
fuck you if you don't think so |
Captain North
07.25.10 | Hmm fair enough. But from what I've read, the script was tailored pretty heavily to DiCaprio on purpose. But maybe he did deliberately avoid the characterisations...*shrug* I still would have preferred more of Saito tbh. |
Satellite
07.25.10 | lol movie is pretty good but not good enough to warrant a dozen "omg I saw Inception" lists. |
BigTuna
07.25.10 | okay TYLER |
tombits
07.25.10 | hey so i went and saw this but had to leave half an hour before the end to catch a train, WAS IT IMPORTANT? |

07.25.10 | i wish i could kiss ellen page. |
