| Letting you know...
Hey Guys. I don?t know how appropriate, and what extents I should everyone. But I figured I might as well seeing all the concern you have taken and all the support you have shown. I will be copying and pasting as many comments as I can find and placing them in his casket, and will try and work on the suggestion of filling an Ipod with all the songs that have been dedicated by you all; that just may be tough given that my own Ipod is filled to the maximum with songs that Brandon (YouAreMySilence) has put on himself? so I am obviously very attached to everything on it and cant part with it. Also given to the fact that the service is a day from now and I have 5 PowerPoint?s complete, a eulogy to write, and the viewing is tomorrow which his mom would like me to go in early with her to do any last minute touch ups of the body (his family have left me and the pastor to do all of the funeral planning) so I don?t have very much free time at all. I am trying my best to reply to each and every one of you because I know that you all have put a lot into every post you made, and it is very appreciated. He would have loved to know how much he affected everyone. Anyway the funeral is predicted to be.. Well massive (300-400) people, the church isn?t actually big enough to hold that many people so there will be a space for overflow people in the basement with a live feed camera and screen set up. There should be tonnes of flowers, and it should be beautiful. He deserves the best. The program will have 2 readings, one message by the pastor, one eulogy by myself, and five power point/ videos. He will be then brought to the cemetery, buried, and we will go back to the church for an open mic where everyone will get a chance to say something. Ultimately he wont be buried in brooks, unfortunately due to the fact that his parents are divorced he will be brought to another site where his dad wanted him, but there will be a spot for him in brooks. If anyone has suggestions for something to mention in his eulogy I would defiantly consider adding what ever you think because you are all some of the best writers I know. I hope to keep you informed on everything throughout, the site just hurts a little to be on because like I said, everything reminds me of him. He showed me the site. The name ?Banion? is actually a mix of his name and mine. Anyways, let me know if I should stop updating =p Here are 2 of the many songs that will be playing at his funeral. | 1 | Jeff Buckley Hallelujah | 2 | Jonsi Go Do | |

07.20.10 | you are an amazing person. | crazyblinddude
07.20.10 | great songs choices. thanks for keeping sputnik posted. | Banion
07.20.10 | There are some songs you guys said that i thought would have been perfect for the slide shows. unfortunatly, the family is looking for things a little more... easy to listen to? if you know what i mean. Im having a heck of a time just trying to get Timothy to be played. And I know he would have wanted it. | Satellite
07.20.10 | Marina/Banion, the way you have handled this horrific situation is admirable beyond words. You owe us nothing, and I think I can speak for the entire Sputnik community in say we are very thankful for keeping us updated. Brandon was clearly lucky to have you as a friend.
As for the eulogy, just go with whatever is in your heart and you'll do fine.
Once again, my deepest condolences. | Satellite
07.20.10 | * in saying | Banion
07.20.10 | No no, Im not going to lie, I broke down to massive extents and threw things. It's strictly the adrenaline running me. And I am scared to death of public speaking let alone for my boyfriend in front of 300+ people with his family therewith I have no idea how to do it without him. Any time I had to public speak before he would proof read and help me. I am completely lost. | 8bit
07.20.10 | Great songs.
I wish you and everyone around you the best of luck. He'll be in all of our thoughts. Stay strong Marina. Stay strong.

07.20.10 | Ughh I wish I could help you. The only advice I can offer is to remember that the audience you are speaking to will be extremely supportive, so don't hold back.
Sorry I can't be of any more help. :/ | Emim
07.20.10 | What Hurts the Most by Rascal Flatts. Such a sad song...but fitting. | vanderb0b
07.20.10 | I'm really sorry to hear about this. From my few interactions with him, he seemed like a pretty awesome guy. Thanks a lot for keeping us updated bout this, it really does mean a lot. | Schizophrenik
07.20.10 | Yeah I could see how it would be hard getting at the drive-in played at a funeral, even though the lyrics are relevant. definitely don't stop updating though. if it's possible I'd like to see what the playlist is when its final. | Masochist
07.20.10 | #1 = Perfect, IMO. | Jash
07.20.10 | you are doing so much for him it amazes me. stay stong and positive, if theres absolutely anyway i can help let me know. if its not too much to ask it would be great if you could put a copy of the list i put up in his memory in the casket . that would mean a lot to me, and stay stong. youre doing a great job | Bitchfork
07.20.10 | I hate to suggest anything considering how much you've done for the sputnik community and the family and friends of Brandon, but perhaps "December Hunting for Vegetarian Fuckface" by Stars of the Lid? I know I've recommended two other songs by the band, but the long time length might be nice considering so many people are coming to his funeral. Surely it will take more than seventeen minutes for everyone to arrive at the site. And I wouldn't dare suggest this if the album wasn't one of Brandon's 5's. | CutMan
07.20.10 | I did not know him, I guess I'm too new to, but I just want to say I'm sorry for your loss, and I get the feeling he was a really good guy. It makes me sad to hear that anyone has died. I don't know you, and this probably rings hollow or silly from someone you don't know at all on the internet, but if there was to be anyway in which I could help, let me know.
Great song choices. | Tits McGee
07.20.10 | I totally agree with Satelitte. You've done an amazing job with this, and these are great songs. | Inveigh
07.20.10 | I've avoided commenting on this even though I saw the original list mainly due to my own personality defects and inability to properly express emotional sentiments. but then I realized that was a pretty self-centered way to go about it.
I rarely conversed with youaremysilence, but being on this site as much as I am it was hard to miss his contributions and comments. he seemed like a genuine dude, and he was definitely lucky to have someone like you in his life who will continue to support him and treat him well before and after he's passed. I'm shocked you have the strength to continue posting here, but the updates are appreciated by myself and I'm sure by the general userbase.
RIP | Yazz_Flute
07.20.10 | No, you are entirely admirable and possess the strength I would wish to possess in this kind of situation. You will wind the strength to speak out, as well as the strength to proceed forward. I'm certain Brandon would want that.
As for songs, Brandon may not have heard some of these but a couple i've come up with that may be appropriate are:
Demians - Falling From the Sun
Joshua Radin - Winter
Sigur Ros - Untitled 3 |
