| Good Hardcore/metalcore
With the oversaturation of the genre itself, there are still some
worthwhile bands in my estimation. These songs are some of my
favorite, and while many may not agree, these are some of favorite
guilty pleasures. | 1 | Oh, Sleeper I Will Welcome The Reaping
The variety in the vocals that range from the breathless talking, to the all
out scream, to the clean vocals make for an interesting listen. | 2 | Haste The Day Ros King
While short, this is just an intense gem of a song that was one of the first
aggressive songs that I loved. | 3 | Confide When Heaven Is Silent
Catchy and tuneful, this band still manages to downtune their guitars and
create some sick breakdowns. They seem like one of the true Christian
bands in that they seem sincere enough through the passionate vocals and
lyrics. | 4 | Bringing Down Broadway Barely There
Honestly, this is just a closeted love of mine. No defending it, I just love this
song. | 5 | This Is The Hospital Go Comatose For Me, Baby
I believe that this band is an undiscovered gem, while their formula is not
too different from other bands of the genre, they deliver music that is
honest, concise, and heartfelt. Not overly technical or too simple, they are
not too catchy to be considered screamo, but also don't fall the other way
in terms of heaviness. | 6 | Hand To Hand Shark Week
Listens like a more melodic Haste The Day, Hand to Hand has a great
variety of vocals and impressive instrumentals. | 7 | Destroy The Runner Sinners
This is the heaviest song that this band recorded, and in my opinion is one
of their best. At times very reminiscent of As I Lay Dying, they still retain
their own identity and deliver an amazing song. | 8 | With Life In Mind Godless Complex
Incredibly impressive drumming coupled with an impassioned shouting vocal
delivery, this band stands out from the pack and has the opportunity to
make a name for themselves if they receive a chance to come out with a full
length in the future. | 9 | Underoath In Regards To Myself
All-time favorite song by Underoath, one of the most creative bands within
the genre. | 10 | Your Memorial Learn Your Lies
Intense and tight guitars and drums make this band the most musically
sound band on this list. The vocals are passionate, and while not the best
range, this is still a great song and band. | 11 | Sylosis Manipulation Through Idols
More metal influenced than most music on this list, one can tell that riffs
play a huge part in this band's sound, while the breakdowns are most
definitely an afterthought. | 12 | Stick To Your Guns This Is More
Just a through and through amazing band. Intense breakdowns and gang
shouts gets the blood pumping. | 13 | The Human Abstract Vela, Together We Await The Storm
Epic and well-executed, these guys have amazing musical chops while still
not straying too far away from groove-oriented metalcore. | 14 | The Dream The Chase Faithless
These Aussies are not afraid of melody, and the melancholic vocals propel
them ahead of many of their peers. Think of a heavy version of Acceptance,
except awesome. | 15 | The Bled Devolver
With punk urgency and above par lyrics, The Bled are one of my favorite
bands. | |
