BallsToTheWall 07.14.10	I understand that, TTR was solid but it's not like the band has broken up or relased something seminal as Opposite. I guess im just jealous that I was to young to see them while my brother was old enough to catch them at high school shows.
Inveigh 07.14.10	ahh, yeah gotcha. I agree that TOoD is definitely their most important record, but YCBY and TTR are both better albums imo. They just didn't necessarily create a sub-genre like TOoD did (or at the very least, helped to do)

Inveigh 07.14.10	I just don't think they were making enough money to keep doing it. They mention nothing in there about getting back together ever, just that they wanted to go do other things with their lives. When I played with them in 2008 it was at a tiny ass venue that wasn't even sold out -- I was talking to Jeff and the other guys and 4 of them had bartending-type jobs back in Florida they were going home to after the tour. So my guess is it's mainly for monetary reasons.

Mordecai. 07.15.10	You Come Before You and Tropic Rot are their masterpieces. OoD is good, and everything else is just okay imo. overall, really great band though
Captain North 07.15.10	I dunno man, ranked subjectively I think TTR tops YCBY. YCBY didn't really reinvent or push many boundaries, it was just absurdly awesome at doing what it did. I made a list ages with my ranking of songs called Who Doesn't Love a Good Listing but I think my choice may have changed now I love Versions and TTR rot more than I did.
Inveigh 07.15.10	yeah You Come Before You didn't push as many bounderies as their first album and last two, but I feel like it was more a perfection of the melodic metalcore sound -- which is why I think they chose to go in a different direction with everything afterwards. That record's just flawless to me.

Apollo 07.15.10	I still haven't heard The Tropic Rot. If it sounds anything like Versions then I doubt I will be overly fond of it. I love me old PTW but Versions was average for me.
Inveigh 07.15.10	Versions grew on me a ton, but it took quite awhile. A lot of people who didn't like Versions described The Tropic Rot as "what Versions should have been" -- I don't know how much I agree with that, but you should definitely give it a spin.
TheBaneofSputnik 07.15.10	Keep listening to Versions, because it really is a grower and actually is an excellent, excellent release once you understand what they were going for. But TTR isn't anything like Versions, really. It's a bit more harsh, yet they incorporate new elements into the album they haven't used before as well. It's their 2nd or 3rd best release, depending on the mood I'm in.l
puma35 07.15.10	I love Poison the Well; I have TOoD, YCBY, and TTR. Is anything else of theirs worth getting into? My favorite album is probably YCBY.
