BigHans

Deviant.
07.09.10 | M-Phazes - Good Gracious (hip hop I know you'll enjoy)
Shearwater - The Golden Archipalego

TheSpirit
07.09.10 | I don't have any recs because our musics tastes are pretty different but **** LEBRON THAT MOTHER****ING A$$HOLE

Inveigh
07.09.10 | nice, I've been hearing good things about M-Phazes and Shearwater, just keep forgetting to d/l them. Never been huge on 36 Crazyfists, but I'll probably give it a shot.
What's My Epic?
(and yes Hans, they do rule, you should check out 11) |

07.09.10 | the sentiment is appreciated anyways, Spirit.

Deviant.
07.09.10 | Little bit rock, little bit indie, little bit post hardcore
I'll think up some more later on but i'm pretty sure you'll dig the first three rec's. The 4th was just a plug (it ain't even out yet) |
Dryden
07.09.10 | i dont have any recs because i dont want to give any |
Apollo
07.09.10 | is 15 actually good Blake? |
Inveigh
07.09.10 | yeah, I like 15, more than any of their other albums actually. I was never a big fan to begin with |
porch
07.09.10 | Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma
|
Inveigh
07.09.10 | I only gave it one listen Porch, and didn't dig it all that much. Seems like a record that needs some time to unravel, so maybe I should revisit it. |
Apollo
07.09.10 | neither am I but I did like two songs off of the last record.
I may check it out. And I am also stoked for new 36CF. |
witchxrapist

TheBaneofSputnik
07.09.10 | How is the new Norma Jean, Blake? I'm really hesitant to buy it. |
Jakeitwasaghost
07.09.10 | Ecid - 1000 Smiles and Runnin'
I haven't been this stoked on a hip hop album in a long time. |
Inveigh
07.09.10 | I dunno if you should spend cash on it, but I'd say it's their overall best album. At least close to it -- I was never a huge fan before but I really like this one. It just sounds like a combo of We Are the Romans and Option Paralysis, so it's nothing original, but it's more than enjoyable.
I'd say it's about on par, maybe not quite as good, as the Heat Fetish by The Bled -- which I liked a lot. |
TheBaneofSputnik
07.09.10 | Well, when I was younger I really enjoyed Bless the Martyr, so I'll check it out. |
Inveigh
07.09.10 | yeah Pit, that's the only other album of theirs I moderately like.
Jakeitwasaghost: I've never even heard of that... I am intrigued... |
witchxrapist
07.09.10 | Oh have yew heard Sed Non Satiata's self titled? (the LP that came out recently, not their old EP). |
Inveigh
07.09.10 | I have not heard that... emo's always a shaky genre for me. I do like some of it though (i.e. Rites of Spring, Envy, Gospel) -- you think it would be up my alley? |
TheBaneofSputnik
07.09.10 | The new Sed Non Satiata is amazing. Album of the year contender for me. |
witchxrapist
07.09.10 | If you like Envy, you might like it. Rinoa is def right up your ally, that type of skramo. |
Inveigh
07.09.10 | ::::compiling get list now:::::: |
Jakeitwasaghost
07.09.10 | I don't think you can download the Ecid album, I had to buy it in San Diego. It's so obscure you actually have to pay for it. Well worth the money, you would dig it. |
Emim
07.09.10 | @pit:
Norma Jean's latest is probably their best so far. Definitely pick it up (maybe not spend dough on it though).
As for recs, Veigh:
New Rosetta
Alcest - Écailles de Lune
The Crucified - Coldest Winter; Darkest Reaches of the Mind (fromtheinside just reviewed this)
The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza - Danza III: The Series of Unfortunate Events (good brometal)
Soulfy - Omen
Living Sacrifice - The Infinite Order
Wrench in the Works - Decrease / Increase
Fallen Figure - Devival (generic deathcore)
Idk, I've enjoyed those. |
WeepingBanana
07.09.10 | Foxy Shazam - Foxy Shazam
Surfer Blood - Astro Coast
Fang Island - Fang Island
Tobacco - Maniac Meat
seriously all of those are great summer albums |
Inveigh
07.09.10 | thanks for the recs Emim, Banana and Josh. I've got Rosetta, letlive, Alcest and Fang Island already -- I love the Rosetta and letlive (hence why they made the list (: ), Alcest I love if I'm in the right mood and Fang Island was hard for me to get into.
Definitely interested in the Rinoa, Sed Non Satiata, The Crucified and Surfer Blood albums, as well as those rec'd in earlier comments.
can always count on my sputbros (and sis -- mappy) to help me out in times of need |
