06.16.10 | ewwwwww 2 will NEVER overcome 3 not in a million years or when chan ends music even

06.16.10 | Ranking is incorrect. First off, Sad Songs destroys their first album. Second, it goes like this:
3
2
1
Sad Songs
4 |

06.16.10 | this is hard because i love all three sososo much. there might be more consistency in boxer, maybe, but i think high violet has some incredible moments that tops the best of boxer |

06.16.10 | gotta say 2's my favorite |

06.16.10 | Well Alligator is definitely not better than Boxer. For me, its like this: In the big three of National albums, I listen to every song on Boxer consistently, I only skip Lemonworld on High Violet, but on Alligator, I skip and plain out dont like about 3 or 4 songs. Also, 2 and 3 are much more coherent and mature, and while I love the pure energy of Alligator, and of course the variety between heavy rocker songs and mellow songs, Boxer and Violet are much more consistent, and the arrangements are much better as well.

06.16.10 | ahh wait, I see you love Nick Drake. All is forgiven. |

06.16.10 | as far as boxer>alligator, even if you analyze it like that it cant be objective. i feel that alligator fully makes up for any amount of 'immaturity' by having a more visceral feel to it, something boxer definitely doesnt lack, but at times it does feel more restrained. maybe loving brand new so much makes me dig that. |

06.16.10 | drakes a god, only the good die young |

06.16.10 | the immaturity of Alligator is what makes it such a spectacular album.
Matt is able to make lines like "break my arms around the one I love" sound so clever. Then Alligator has this overwhelming sense of intimacy as the entire albums seems to be a look at his relationship. The "Mr. November fucking rocks and has the best chant of any song ever"

06.16.10 | I get why people like Alligator the best, because of the mood and overall rebellious nature, and its raw as fuck, but Boxer and High Violet are more consistent and more pleasing to a musician such as myself. Despite my love for the mood and tone of Alligator, im not going to ignore the 3 or 4 bad songs. |

06.16.10 | Alligator is Amnesiac
Boxer is Kid A
Alligator hits higher highs but has lower lows. Boxer is flawless but with no perfection (that doesn't make a lot of sense but lets pretend it does) |
Inveigh
06.16.10 | ^i actually pretty much agree with that |

06.16.10 | List is too hard and missing Sad Songs. |
theTourist
06.16.10 | 1 Boxer
2 High Violet
3 Sad Songs (really underrated)
4 Virginia EP
5 Alligator (still excellent but a little overrated)
6 Cherry Tree
7 The National |
