These ballots have been created by your fellow sputnikers. Nominees have been compiled and selected thanks to 21 submissions from “The Academy” (not to be confused with theacademy, although I admit I did do this on purpose…).
Nominees are listed based on the amount of nominations they received via the emailed submissions, with the top 5, 4, or 3 nominees (depending on category) making the ballot. Certain categories have fewer than 5 nominees because of variance in the nomination pools (e.g. fewer emails included submissions for the ‘best review’ categories, only 3 bloggers received votes, etc.). All things considered, there was enough repetition across the submissions to easily select the nominees (there was one exception, see below).
The Bungy memorial award is composed of everything worthwhile people submitted about Bungy (read: other than ‘I didn’t know him’ or ‘what happened to Bungy’).
Finally, some nominees received a hilariously lop-sided amount of votes (“Least Intelligent User”, “Best Staff Blogger”, and “Worst Reviewer,” in particular). AtavanHalen and MichaelJordan should get honorary “Most Polarizing Reviewer” awards, since they were the only Sputnikers nominated for both the best (User) and worst reviewer awards (although neither made the ballot in the latter category). 14 different users were submitted for 'Most Annoying User' with only 2 of them receiving more than one vote (3 if I count Ire's comment on the previous list, which I did in order to round out the nominations).
