I considered putting Sevendust on there (definitely would be there if it was 11 or 12 long) but I felt that the rest more embodied what Nu-Metal was. As for rage and Incubus, I felt that Incubus falls more on the Nu side of things. And rage is more so than that.

Funk metal could have RATM, Incubus, FNM (it would have to be The Real Thing or earlier though), RHCP, Fishbone, Living Colour, Infectious Grooves, Funk Dubious etc. also, AnotherBrick, you should enlist redsky for a sludge/doom list and maybe someone else (SteelErectedB4u8er maybe) for a southern metal one. Just some ideas to fill out part III

Mordecai. 06.03.10	nice dude. yeah i think The Ocean are a tiny bit overrated. Their albums are just to bloated. They are indeed awesome though. looking forward to your list then. Have you heard of a band called Radare? Their album 'Inifnite Regress' is some damn fine post-metal.
Lambda 06.03.10	Metalcore was great, I might have put Between The Buried And Me - Colors on there though (if they even qualify as metalcore, I'm not 100% sure). What did everyone think of the experimental section?
Mordecai. 06.03.10	It was great. Good to see The sound of Animals Fighting on there. I probably would of added something by Toby Driver like Choirs of the Eye or Part the Second. Colors is pretty much prog metal, but I was going to add The Silent Circus. Underoath seemed more appropriate though.

How is Korn's Korn less essential than Follow The Leader since it kinda only idk started the genre? I don't really consider SOAD to be nu-metal so thx for not putting them on the list.. Also POD's Satellite IMO is more essential and I consider only Slipknot's first two albums to be nu-metal.. But hey the list is great..

Inveigh 06.03.10	somberlain: as much as I love Rebel Yellow, I just didn't think it was necessarily an essential album of the sub-genre, at least not more so than the ones I listed. It was close between Fantastic Damage and Funcrusher Plus, I'm just more familiar with Damage I guess.

But hey the list is great.." 3DBY was more personal preference, Korn's FTL I feel is more accessible, and P.O.D.'s FEOS has a bit more variety than Satellite does. Slipknot is kinda a Nu-Thrash (yuck) type band, but Vol. 3 still has some very prevalent Nu-Metal influences.

somberlain 06.04.10	Inveigh: yea Rebel Yellow isn't essential I get it Funcrusher Plus though was a VERY important album as far is underground hip-hop is concerned and it's just flat out better than Fan Dam but if you disagree with that maybe you should give Funcrusher another spin ;)
