| Easiest Elliott Smith Songs To Learn On Guitar
so, yeah, I'm kinda obsessed with this guy. but he uses a lot of crazy chords and fast alternate picking in his songs (see tomorrow tomorrow or angeles) which sometimes makes some of his songs insanely hard to learn, let alone sing along to while playing them. so, my fellow guitarists, what are some of his songs that are relatively easy to learn on the guitar? list is songs I can already play. | | 1 | Elliott Smith Needle in the Hay
reaaaaally easy song to play, it uses the same structure over and over again. | | 2 | Christian Brothers
the chords were kinda hard to get down, but after that, not too bad. | | 3 | St. Ides Heaven
really easy, all it uses is Em, D, C, G, and F# the whole time. | | 4 | Say Yes
this is my favorite one to play and sing to. | | 5 | Between the Bars
simple, but great song. | |

05.25.10 | I've never tried learning his stuff, but I'll start here. Thanks. | EVedder27
05.25.10 | I've been playing Say Yes lately | eternium
05.25.10 | The fact that he tunes to D makes me not learn songs, since I'm too lazy to tune my acoustic all the time.
I do play Christian Brothers though. | chaseguitar
05.25.10 | eternium - yeah, needle in the hay is the only one on this list that is in standard. all the rest are tuned to D. | Athom
05.25.10 | Angeles is pretty easy to half ass and still have it sound great. | WeepingBanana

01.02.11 | I've tried and failed at so many. Not that I'm a full-time guitar player or anything. And that song is by far his easiest and most simple: 2:45 am.
Greatest artist of all time. | klap
