I Am The Metallica Authority

I've been listening to Metallica since most of you were born, so here is the definitive, and final breakdown of all things Metallica ;)
1Best Song =
Master of Puppets

You can argue this if you want, but it will be futile. Every element they ever excelled at is performed perfectly here, from the glorious riff, the catchy chorus, the standout one liners (chop your breakfast on a mirror), gorgeous melodic section, and a sense of brutality.
2Biggest Douchebag =
James Hetfield

Look, I worshipped pre- "I need to go to a therapist because I'm a giant pussy" Hetfield. He was arguably one of the greatest frontmen in history. Yes, Lars is a douche, but at least he had the balls to tell James in "Some Kind of Monster" that them paying 20k a week for a therapist was a pussy move.
3Most Essential Video =
A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica

This is an epic documentary. If you haven't seen it, do it now.
4Best Ballad =
Fade to Black

With Apologies to Nothing Else Matters, Sanitarium, One and Unforgiven, this was the pinnalce of their introspective side.
5Best Album =
Master of Puppets

Lightning is close, but considering Puppets is the greatest metal album ever made, its a pretty easy discussion.
6Best Riff =
For Whom the Bell Tolls

Yeah, its one of the easiest to play. Doesn't matter, it is fucking HUGE.
7Best Kirk Solo =
The Unforgiven

After much debate.
8Worst Single =
The Memory Remains

I truely abhor this song. Marriane Faithful's background vocals are beyond cringe inducing, as is the song in general.
9Best Cover Song =
So What

Because I love vulgar shit.
10Greatest Opener =
Battery

With the exception of ReLoad and St Anger, every Metallica record has a phenominal opener (Hit the Lights, Fight Fire With Fire, Blackened, Sandman, That Was Just Your Life, Aint My Bitch). Battery ultimatley pummels them all.
