| Evolution Of My Musical Tastes |
| 1 | | Pink Floyd A Saucerful of Secrets
Age 10: 'Corporal Clegg' was the first song I remember liking. Always on repeat on my dad's car! |
| 2 | | Blink-182 Blink-182
Age 12/13: Next came the Blink/American Hi-Fi/Sum 41/Green Day stage. |
| 3 | | Incubus A Crow Left of the Murder...
Age 13: Loved this at the time. Other faves were Bad Religion 'The Empire Strikes Back'. |
| 4 | | Lostprophets Start Something
Age 14: wow this was really heavy for me at the time. Think I heard 'Burn Burn' on a FIFA game and loved it! |
| 5 | | Iron Maiden Dance of Death
Age 14: this album and 'Brave New World' opened my eyes to metal. |
| 6 | | Killswitch Engage The End of Heartache
Age 15: this was the album which got me into screaming, opening my eyes to a host of new bands. 'Rose of Sharyn' still has to rank as one of my all-time favourite songs. Trivium's 'Ascendancy' and Megadeth 'The System has Failed' followed. |
| 7 | | Dark Tranquillity Character
Age 15: got given this as a present by someone who wasn't into metal and just picked the heaviest thing he could find. I was taken aback at first but it grew on me. 'Lost to Apathy' is incredible. |
| 8 | | Hate Eternal I, Monarch
Age 16: This album signalled my first extreme metal album, if you will. 'Behold Judas' I remember being a personal fave. |
| 9 | | Amon Amarth With Oden on Our Side
Age 17-18: By now, I was pretty much listening to anything within the metal spectrum. This was one of my favourite albums in this period. Insomnium's 'Above the Weeping World' was another I loved. |
| 10 | | The National Boxer
Age 19: Still love metal but realised there's a lot more to music than just metal. A friend helped me uncover this gem. Discovered others like Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes and Phoenix. |
