FadeToBlack
05.20.10 | nice i love Motorbreath, but no Creeping Death wtfffffffffffffffffff |
AliW1993
05.20.10 | I wish they'd done Damage Inc when I saw them. I didn't get Creeping Death either. |
Inveigh
05.20.10 | I got Motorbreath, Damage, Inc and Creeping Death when I saw them last fall, but I would have loved to see 3 and 5. They also did Last Caress when I saw them, which was awesome.
Weird that they played Shortest Straw and Turn the Page, those are kinda out of nowhere.. |
BigHans
05.20.10 | Inveigh it sounds like the same set list I saw, although they did change it up on the tour. Did they play Fight Fire with Fire and Ride the Lightning? |
Inveigh
05.20.10 | just Ride the Lightning I think, I've got the set list written down at home I'll have to check. I don't remember Fight Fire With Fire though. They played a lot of stuff from Puppets, black album and Death Magnetic. Not one single song from Load, Reload or St. Anger haha. |
BigHans
05.20.10 | Here is what I remember, and its not 100% accurate because I was fucking blasted, but I know for a fact they didnt play anything off the three shit albums
That Was Just Your LIfe
Cyanide
All Nightmare Long
Day That Never Comes
Holier Than Thou
Fight Fire With Fire
Ride the Lightning
Damage Inc
Motorbreath
Last Caress
Sandman
Nothing Else Matters
Master of Puppets
Sanitarium
Im missing a few, but the big surprises were Motorbreath, Damage, Holier Than Thou, and Fight Fire |
Bfhurricane
05.20.10 | 4 5 and 6 are great. How many songs did they play total? |
ReturnToRock

05.20.10 | I think if you combined BigHans and ReturnToRock's setlists, and maybe subtracted/added like one or two, that would be the one I saw. I'll post it here later when I get home. I always love seeing Metallica set lists, they've got such a huge catalog that it's always interesting to see what they play. |
BigHans
05.20.10 | Alright I looked up online the one I went to, I was mostly right:
1.That Was Just Your Life

5.One
6.Broken, Beat And Scarred
7.Cyanide
8.Sad But True
9.Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
10.All Nightmare Long

15.Enter Sandman

16.Die, Die My Darling (Misfits cover)
17.Motorbreath
18.Seek & Destroy |
BigHans
05.20.10 | I could have sworn they played Damage Inc, guess I was wrong (I had at least 14 beers before and during the show).
Pedros set list was better, as I didnt get Bells.
Come to think of it, they didnt play Bells, Creeping Death, or Fade to Black, which is kind of a fail. |
Buccaneer
05.20.10 | Turn the Page and No Remorse are awesome man |
Inveigh
05.20.10 | alright, I just looked up mine too. there were a couple bits between songs where Hammett and Hetfield would do little solo interludes, but these are the songs:
1. That Was Just Your Life
2. The End Of The Line
3. Ride The Lightning
4. Wherever I May Roam
5. One
6. Broken, Beat and Scarred
7. Cyanide
8. Sad But True
9. Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
10. All Nightmare Long
11. The Day That Never Comes
12. Master of Puppets
13. Damage, Inc.
14. Nothing Else Matters
15. Enter Sandman
encore
16. Last Caress (Misfits cover)
17. Motorbreath
18. Seek & Destroy
man, I could have sworn they played Creeping Death and For Whom the Bell Tolls... maybe that was at the 2000 or 2003 show.. I'll check my hand-written one when I get home to make sure this site has it right. |
BigHans
05.20.10 | Man, you got Roam and I got Holier than Thau, haha.
I can see a pattern forming here. It looks like they did one obscure old school thrash song per set, mine was Fight Fire, yours was Damage Inc. |
ReturnToRock
05.20.10 | Apparently Tuesday night's was better, THEY got Fade...we weren't so lucky!
And god-damn, you guys got Sanitarium!? Lucky bastards! They haven't played that one over here since 2004! |
Inveigh
05.20.10 | yeah but I like Fade to Black better. Sanitarium's not a bad consolation prize though.
and yeah Hans, we saw the same set except they exchanged two songs haha. I would've loved to see Fight Fire With Fire live. I'm pretty sure they played the intro to it at some point during the show, but went into a different song afterwards. |
BigHans
05.20.10 | Yeah them not playing Fade was a rob job. They did play it when I saw them on the Load tour, but that time they didnt do Sanitarium. |
Inveigh
05.20.10 | ^haha, maybe James is just permanently scarred (get it???) from what happened when they played that song in Montreal in 92 or 93 or whenever that was... |
BigHans
05.20.10 | Haha, yep. That was that EPIC tour with Faith No More and Gn R. Axl couldve saved the day by having GnR come on right away, but he chose to blow off the show after Hetfield got hurt, thus starting a riot. |
Inveigh
05.20.10 | yep, GnR couldda been heroes and played an epic 2 1/2 hour set or something, but Axl felt James' injury upstaged him and took some of the spotlight away, so they just refused to go on at all. One of the better tales of hard rock/metal lore.
also, what a FUCKING amazing tour that was. |
BigHans
05.20.10 | No shit, wish I could have caught that, considering that 1. Metallica is probably my favorite band of all time if you encompass all of my music listening years 2. Appetite is my favorite album and has been for about 15 years, and 3. FNM is all sorts of win. |
Inveigh
05.20.10 | "Metallica is probably my favorite band of all time if you encompass all of my music listening years"
yeah me too man, I worshiped that band from about '97 all the way through 2003 or 2004. I mean, I still listen to them occasionally, but I don't refer to them as my favorite band like I did for about 5 or 6 straight years.
I do love Appetite, but I haven't listened to much of it since high school. Rocket Queen still rules though.
and yeah, FNM have been one of my 5 or 10 favorite bands for close to a decade now. |
