their best album
8Bleeding Through
Bleeding Through

still has the BT sound but it tries new things. some of their best work
9Melissa Auf der Maur
Out of Our Minds

she was the guitarist for Hole and some other bands, but her solo debut LP is outstanding. cool guitarwork and vocals. mixes many styles of rock and has guest vocals by Danzig on the track 'Father's Grave'
10Joanna Newsom
Have One On Me

quite a journey to get through 3 discs of her music. was it worth it? YES!
11Minus the Bear
Omni

not their best by any stretch, but still has some quality songs and a different sound
12Martriden
Encounter the Monolith

more and more i listen to this i like it more than their debut. if you want quality death/black metal than get this
13Periphery
Periphery

theyre one of the up and comers in metal and they deserve the praise. vocals are iffy but dont ruin it for me. instrumentally they are insane

Blue Sky Noise

so Circa Survive finally made an album that didnt get boring half way through
15Murder By Death
Good Morning, Magpie

not disapointing at all. they always create a surreal album

?cailles de lune

sweet
17Marina & The Diamonds
The Family Jewels

fun indie/electronic pop. she has a good voice for pop and the lyrics are easy to sing to
18Laura Marling
I Speak Because I Can

she has won my heart over. this album is crazy good and her songwriting ability is growing and growing
19108
18.61

not as good as their other stuff but its aggressive
20Gorath
MXCII

Gorath impressed me with their debut Misotheism, and although this one wasnt quite as good it still is some excellent black metal
21Hateful
Coils of a Consumed Paradise

death metal
22Hour of Penance
Paradogma

didnt really like this band a whole lot but this release is solid
23Daysend
Within the Eye of Chaos

melodic death metal with catchy clean vocals
24Celeste
Morte(s) Nee(s)

if you havent heard of this band by now then you should kill yourself
25Warfield Within
Inner Bomb Exploding

although the album name is cheesy it does a decent job of describing the aggressiveness and anger found on this melodic death metal album
26Bosque Brown
Baby

country/folk. she has a simple and lovely voice
27Randy Twigg
Undone

synth/trance pop with female vocals. songs are hit and miss

Au ellai

funeral doom hasnt been this good for a while
29Shearwater
The Golden Archipelago

one of my favs of the year so far.
30The Foreshadowing
Oionos

vocals dont seem to be as good as their debut but i still like it

Curse of the Red River

heavy as balls

this Scottish chick has a hot voice and the looks to go with it.
45Wrath and Rapture
