Tech Death Ranked

Tech death bands ranked in order of my favourite. Forgive me if one of your favourite is left off the list.
1Necrophagist

By far my favourite tech death. Mohammed may be a show off guitarist but I love how fast he plays, the solos are extremly fun to listen to. "Mutilate The Stillborn" is a good example of this. Romain Goulon is also my favourite drummer of all time. He has speed but more importantly, technicality. Necrophagist does a good job of switching time signatures mid riff, and I am a fan of thier odd time.
2Augury

Extremely progressive Canadian Tech death. While they might not be the fastest, they sure have alot of cool elements incorperated in their songs. I like the bass, its technical and low. The blast beats are a little dissappointing, they are overused. The vocals may be the most amazing part. The growls are epic, and the cleans sound like a pirate, but in a good way. I especially like when they layer the female vocals over the death growls.
3The Faceless

Some look at Akeldema as a deathcore album, it is in many ways, but I don't mind. The drumming is pretty good, the really feat is the song structures and composition. The choruses are well built as well as the intros. Planetary Duality is by far my favourite. They shed thier deathcore skin and swapped it for a far better, more refined sound. Fast, technical, to the point. Laided with Necrophagist and Origin infuences, a masterpiece of an album.
4Obscura

The songwork is well done, I often find their songs get stuck in my head. The vocals are raspy, but awsome. I'm also a fan of thier bassist, he's pretty sick. Probably the best band I know at switching time signatures mid riff, which is very respectable. Also, gotta love the album covers!
5Atheist

Technical, very very technical. Maaybe even to a fault. I find the vocals awful, but I loooooove the song writing. If they got a new vocalist the'd be my favourite. I am super pumped for their new album and I'm hoping they can stir up something as good as "Traced In Air." Really not hoping in another flop like Pestilence though.
6Cynic

Awsome band, Focus was extremly technical on the guitar end of things. Traced In Air was more technical on the drumming end. I was hoping Traced In Air would have more growling vocals buuuut, I was satisfied with the balance they struck. I love the elecronic vocals though.
7Gorod

Fast, creative and progressive. I love the funny things they do with the guitar. Too hard to describe them, but the little random riffs that are strung in are very cool. Solos are great, vocals are sick. Nuf said.
8Fleshgod Apocalypse

Huge fan of these guys. The operatic instrumentation and vocals are amazing. I feel like this it what Suffocation and Obscura would sound like if you mixed them together. Definatly getting their new album.
9Meshuggah

Absolute kings of weird time signatures. The drummer plays in the craziest times I've ever heard. I don't know much about guitar but it is paired perfectly to really formulate a good sound.
10Origin

These guys are kind of a gimmik for me. The speed is amazing, but if it wasn't for that I wouldn't listen to them. Vocals are terrible, the composition is ok. They are still good though, and they make my top 10.
