04.26.10 | it is barbaric but so it nature and so is humanity. so it like makes sense. in portugal and france it's illegal to kill a bull, so they instead just 'subdue' the bull but don't kill it, so there are bullfights that aren't quite as bad. I'd imagine in 20 years all bullfights will be that way. |

04.26.10 | As an outsider's perspective, I actually saw a bullfight in Spain and it was a pretty overwhelming experience. There were 6 fights total and I was absolutely miserable for the first 2, like tearing up. But after some time you get used to it and each fight is easier to tolerate than the previous. As a disclaimer any form of animal cruelty makes me sick and I'm with you guys that this sport is fucked up. But at the same time, you begin to see an artistic value and grace in it that you wouldn't expect. In summary, it's totally fucked up, but at the same time there's a somewhat beautiful aesthetic to it. Kind of hard to explain. |
