| Nine Inch Nails Ranked
Supposed to be a new one coming out this year. Anyway.. | | 9 | | Nine Inch Nails Ghosts I-IV
Instrumental ambient music made by Trent and tons of guests. It is not,
however, just a bunch of noisy tracks, but a rather diverse creation,
including piano, guitars, and trash cans as drums. | | 8 | | Nine Inch Nails The Slip
After leaving Interscope Records, Trent quite randomly released this for free
online, with no warning whatsoever. It isn't In Rainbows, but it's still damn
good for a free, online released album. | | 7 | | Nine Inch Nails With Teeth
The first album after Trent got sober, but it's still full of anger and emotion. | | 6 | | Nine Inch Nails Broken
If you haven't seen the full video that comes with this (or was supposed
to), do it now. The EP produced both Wish and Gave Up, two NIN classics. | | 5 | | Nine Inch Nails Year Zero
Very electronic, Trent did this mostly using a laptop. We all know about the
game, the badass on-purpose leaks, and the bashing of Interscope
Records that came after this. Hell, this is the end of the world. Kinda like
Trent's 1984. | | 4 | | Nine Inch Nails Pretty Hate Machine
The first album, the most poppy, and contains my favorite NIN song;
Something I Can Never Have. | | 3 | | Nine Inch Nails The Fragile
An excellent double album is a rarity and Nine Inch Nails joined The Beatles,
Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, and Godspeed in doing this successfully. Still
depressing, but more ambient and expansive than anything before it. | | 2 | | Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral
One of my favorite albums of all time. There is no bad song. Hurt, Reptile,
March of the Pigs, The Becoming.. so many amazing songs that describe the
process of a person's eventual suicide. | | 1 | | Nine Inch Nails Strobe Light
The classic. Easily the best thing that Trent has ever made. | |

04.22.10 | The correct order. You cannot disagree. | eternium
04.22.10 | And shamelessly bumping my own list. | crazyblinddude
04.22.10 | i dont think trent will ever be able to surpass the mastery of strobe light | eternium
04.22.10 | He had Timberland help him on that, remember? | ziroth
04.22.10 | nin is pretty underrated on this site, but shamefully i still haven't heard 2 and 3 which is supposedly his best work | crazyblinddude
04.22.10 | check em out dude. TDS is soul-crushing and TF is blissfully stunning | eternium
04.22.10 | Seriously, amazing albums, especially compared to the other stuff. Just a different level. | ziroth
04.22.10 | yeah, i don't know why the hell i haven't yet to be honest. | eternium
04.22.10 | Listen, NOW. | ziroth
04.22.10 | downloading. | RobotFrank
04.22.10 | i was going to bash this list for omitting number 1.. but no - you got it right! | eternium
04.22.10 | Haha. | Slipping Away
04.22.10 | I have to keep telling people this, pussygrinder (ft. Sheryl Crow) is the greatest song Trent has ever made. Pretty good rankings although I would switch a few things. Also list desperatly needs Still even if it isn't a true album. | eternium
04.22.10 | Broken is lucky that I put it in here, since it's just an EP. However, it is rather important and all original music, not a complication. I also could have omitted Ghosts. | Slipping Away
04.22.10 | Well Ghosts is a real LP though, On a side note The Slip has grown on me considerably, it used to be near the bottom of this list if I ever made one, but I just enjoy so damn much its becoming one of my most listened to albums, songs I origianally didn't care for like corona radiata and the four of us are dying are starting to be favs for me now. | Sowing
04.22.10 | this is the correct list, although personally i'd switch 2 and 3.
1 is phenomenal btw... | eternium
04.22.10 | There are some people on here that like The Fragile more, but I dunno why. As amazing as it is, it does have some weaker songs and doesn't flow as well. | XulOnerom
04.22.10 | 1 is indeed the best | Sowing
04.22.10 | to me they're almost equal. i just think 3 has a more diverse sound. and i like a lot of the individual songs on there, starfuckers, into the void, we're in this together, etc
but even then the difference between the two is very slight | eternium
04.22.10 | Downward Spiral is darker, musically, which I really love. The music is pretty diverse on there too. | Slipping Away
04.22.10 | My two cents: The fragile is my favorite album ever and TDS is right behind it just by a hair | Sowing
04.22.10 | yeah thats true too. i can't really argue with someone liking the downward spiral better. it is also brilliant. | eternium
04.22.10 | As long as we agree that those two are the best. | RobotFrank
04.22.10 | tds is the masterwork. fragile is close but there are a few spotty tracks. starfuckers is a weaker nin single.
i love phm, but i love angry 80s dance. not for everyone. when it comes down to it, nin is an angry 80s dance group. this is why strobe light made so much sense and worked as well as it did. | Parallels
04.22.10 | 4 is still better than 1. but 1 kicks ass | Slipping Away
04.22.10 | Just for fun I decided to do my own. I've been listening to NIN for a few years now and this list changes quite frequently.
1. The Fragile
2. TDS
3. The Slip
4. Pretty Hate Machine
5. Year Zero
6. With Teeth
7. Broken
8. Ghosts
This is probably the most unconventional its ever been, year zero has always been my third favorite but I'm really diggin the slip and PHM right now. Left off Still because it would have made this too hard. Love all of them though and looking forward too whats next. | bloc
04.22.10 | I think 5 8 and 9 are terrible | Brylawski
04.22.10 | They are. This guy makes really bad music now | Tunaboy45
08.18.13 | I love strobe light. The production by Timberland is flawless. |
