04.08.10 | Sucks for Chicago. |
Inveigh
04.08.10 | yes it does. good thing it's the greatest city in the world. |
Niceinvader
04.08.10 | I'd really like to take a trip there sometime. |
intothepit83
04.08.10 | i've never seen snow before in my 27 years on this good "green" earth. sad, ain't it? well, either way, how is number 1? i've been meaning to check it out |
Inveigh
04.08.10 | you should, but I'd suggest waiting til you're 21 (if you're not already). there is a LOT more to do here if you can legally drink. also, make sure you come after mid-May, to ensure you're not hit with 30 degrees and snow. |
Inveigh
04.08.10 | it's good, if slightly overrated. If you like El-P then you'll probably like it (he does all the production). Sometimes the lyrics are pretty clumsy, but for some reason are regarded by a lot of people as genius. stuff like:
"if at first you don't succeed, try try again
step up to the mic, and die again
it's the next lifetime and you wanna battle
either you like reincarnation or the smell of carnations"
and that just doesn't do it for me. still a great record despite its flaws though.
oh, and you'll see plenty of snow in Nebraska my man. |
intothepit83
04.08.10 | ya, i know. it's funny, too. people keep telling me to brace myself for the heat, but they don't realize i've only left the state of florida twice in my life. i think i can handle the heat in the summer in nebraska.
lol, i thought the 2nd to last post you made was directed at me! i was gonna ask what does having to be 21 have to do with the music |
TheSpirit
04.08.10 | that sucks it's like nine thousand degrees here |
Inveigh
04.08.10 | haha yeah that was for Niceinvader.
I've never been to Nebraksa or Miami, but after spending the first 13.5 years of my life in Atlanta and then moving to St. Louis, I can say that the south isn't always the worst heat. People call it Hotlanta, it's definitely hot as fuck for like 6-8 months of the year (a lot longer than STL), but the humidity of living in the city of St. Louis (which is on the Mississippi River) is almost unbearable in June and July. T-shirt and gym shorts outside without even moving and you will sweat buckets. No lie. |
Inveigh
04.08.10 | where are you Spirit? |
intothepit83
04.08.10 | i'm just happy i'm getting out of here b4 the humidity gets really bad. in july and august in south florida, it's 90-100% humidity every day with a temp between 95-100 degrees. can't be much worse than that |
Inveigh
04.08.10 | yeah, STL's not quite that bad. but it's close. think 90-95 with about 75-80% humidity everyday, and occasionally hotter.
I know I grew up in it, but I can't stand the heat. As much as snow sucks, I can deal with the cold here in the Chi. May thru October is so fucking glorious it's worth it. |
Dryden
04.08.10 | haha in canada its nice and warm now |
Inveigh
04.08.10 | hey Dryden, I got a couple legit questions for you.
1.) here in the U.S., we call little circle cuts of ham "Canadian Bacon." What do you call that in Canada? Just bacon? In that case, what do you guys call thin strips of meaty pig fat? American Ham?
2.) may I enter the dryden? |
intothepit83
04.08.10 | That's a good question, Inveigh, but I have to ask another one.....
Do they take Canadian football seriously in Canada? Or did Doug Flutie waste his time? |
Dryden
04.08.10 | its all bacon. and some take it seriously depends what part you are in. some rather talk about nothing but hockey or rugbee. and you may enter at your own risk. |
Inveigh
04.08.10 | sweet! my first permission to enter! |
