| Ten Of The Most Powerful Songs I Know
This list is merely an opinion, obviously. Most of the songs hold a special meaning that is applicable to myself, but who knows, maybe some of these songs hold a special meaning for you too. | 10 | blink-182 Stay Together for the Kids
This song is one of the few blink songs with any real meaning and it truly hits home for me. | 9 | Brand New Jesus Christ
This is probably my favorite track by Brand New. Jesse Lacey really lays himself out on this one and even though the guitar riff is pretty simple throughout, its hauntingly beautiful | 8 | Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Face Down (Acoustic)
I'm a sucker for acoustics and even though I don't care much for this band, his song, in all its acousticness, is quite a gem. | 7 | Audioslave Be Yourself
Ever since heard this song on Scubs I have loved it and I think the message it carries its unbeleivably powerful. | 6 | Pearl Jam Jeremy
In my opinion, this is Pearl Jam's best, but I don't care much for Pearl Jam, regardless this song is amazing. | 5 | Against Me! Thrash Unreal
This is a great song about "damaged" people. It's really deep and the chorus stays with you. | 4 | Jeff Buckley Hallelujah
This song is one of the most beautiful things I have ever allowed to enter my ears. Rufus Wainwright's version is great too, but this was the first one I heard so it means a little more. | 3 | Johnny Cash The Man Comes Around
This song is simply beautiful, and I love me some good Cash. | 2 | Johnny Cash Hurt (Cover of NIN)
I love the Cash version of this song. His voice is what I imagine God sounding like. | 1 | Bob Dylan Hurricane
This song speaks for itself. | |
heyadam
04.04.10 | number 2 is pretty sweet, although I definitely prefer Trent's original version.... especially live. I'd say Cash's studio version is a bit better but the live version when NIN performs it is guaranteed goosebumps | Sowing
04.04.10 | 1-4, 9, and 10 are all gold | Slipping Away
04.04.10 | Yeah I've come to appreciate NIN's version more, I think Cash's version needs the video to complement it, still great though. Alright list. | Dryden
04.04.10 | not even powerful wtf | eggsvonsatan
04.04.10 | More NIN-Hurt, less Cash hurt.
List is kinda weak. | AliW1993
04.04.10 | I prefer NIN's Hurt, especially in the context of The Downward Spiral. 6, 7, 9 and 10 are amazing as well | Athom
04.04.10 | if you think Thrash Unreal is powerful then you need to listen to We Laugh At Danger and Break all the Rules, Walking Is Still Honest, Sink Florida Sink, and Tonight Were Gonna Give It 35%. | LeotardMessiah2
04.04.10 | too powerful
cannot.contain.the....................................................................... power
| johnnyblaze
04.04.10 | What redsky said. But yeah thrash unreal has great lyrics. Oh man, i never want to hear 7 again, EVER. | PanasonicYouth
04.04.10 | you should probably kill yourself for 5 | Athom
04.04.10 | tbh, kris, i like that song too :/ | Yeahtoast
04.04.10 | 6 is amazing and my MSN name ^_^
The NIN version of Hurt is alot more powerful and emotional for me | SeaAnemone
04.04.10 | Scrubs is the best thing on here | EVedder27
04.04.10 | yeah Jeremy is pretty awesome | couldwinarabbit
04.05.10 | Les Rallizes Dénudés- Far Out Deeper Than the Night
...but I'm and elitist bastard. However Limousine is better then JC. | Mr. Lizard
04.05.10 | 5 should be Pints Of Guiness Make You Strong except it should be 1 | CreamCrazy
04.05.10 | 2, 4, 6, 7, 9 & 10 are all awesome.
However IMO, Buckley has way more powerful & emotional songs than Hallelujah, but each to their own opinion I suppose | hoipolloi
04.05.10 | i appreciate the feedback, in hindsight some of you guys are totally right about thrash unreal, as far as against me! goes i could have made a much better selection with that one, im personally a big fan of pints of guiness make you stronger and walking is still honest. and i've got nothing against NIN i'm just personally a big cash fan but reznors version of hurt is sick, i just like the slower tempo and and vocals on the cash version |
