| Soundwave 2010 Ranked
These are the bands I saw at Melbourne Soundwave in full, ranked as favourites. | 1 | The Aquabats
Seriously, these guys were goddamn incredible. Not only did they play a good variety of catchy songs but they were a very fun band and looked like they were really enjoying themselves. Half-way through they brought out Muno, the giant red cyclops to play guitar alongside them. Probably the best live act I've ever seen. | 2 | Paramore
Simply Amazing. They played a really great set of songs and their stage presence was incredible. Both Josh Farro and Jeremy Davis were going mental by doing flips on stage and swinging their guitars around like a hammerthrow athlete on meth. Hayley Williams was also very playful and energetic. | 3 | Isis
One of my favourite bands ever didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed seeing Isis live. They completely exceeded my expectations, I just wish they would've played some of their older stuff. Still amazing though. | 4 | Gallows
Apart from having an exceedingly good setlist, Frank Carter is completely insane. Crowdsurfing in and out the doors of the stage and ordering the crowd to form a human pyramid. Gallows is one of the most energetic acts I've ever had the pleasure to witness. | 5 | Architects
Architects were a great start to the day. They were very powerful both with performing and stage presence and very energetic. My only complaint was that they stuck only to performing songs from Hollow Crown. This isn't a bad thing by any means but I would've loved to hear some stuff from Ruin. | 6 | Whitechapel
Whitechapel performed late in the night so I was quite tired by then but they still managed to put on an immensly enjoyable show. The setlist was quite good and they were quite brutal through performing. | 7 | Faith No More
Faith No More were a great end to a long day. The crowd led from the stage right up to the seating area, completely opposite. The performance was projected onto the big screen for those far away and they also hooked up to chatroulette for people to witness the performance online. The only problem I had was the same with Meshuggah as I've only recently started to listen to them. I still recognised a few of their songs though. It was quite spectacular to watch them perform 'Epic' live. Brilliant stuff. | 8 | Meshuggah
Meshuggah are one of the most brutal acts I've seen. They performed exceedingly well and their stage presence was incredible. Vocalist Jens Kidman actually looked like he was becoming possessed. The only reason they aren't higher on this list is because I'm not overly familiar with their material. Still quite enjoyable. | |

03.25.10 | would've loved to see all of these bands, especially 3, 7 and 8. sweet list man | Slipping Away
03.25.10 | Ok lineup, I would love to see 3 | opblaaskonijn
03.25.10 | 1 is so much fun live. Alot of weird stuff going on. Played Pool Party when I saw them, threw all kinds of pool/bath toys in the crowd, crowd went apeshit.
8 is also really great live, very headbang worthy.
4 is energetic, liked them.
5 is imo alot better on album. They sucked ass the 2 times I saw them, also a very crappy setlist.
Saw 6 too sometime, but can't remember anything from it.
Still want to see 2 and 3.
