Deviant.

03.22.10 | Put it on an external hard-drive? That's what I'm doing from now on. |
RedSky
03.22.10 | Why do people think only iPods and Zunes exist ...
You could try a hard drive recovery too if you haven't thrashed the hard drive too much since it got deleted, you will likely be able to get most of it back. Just search data recovery on your favorite torrent site. |
Prophet178
03.22.10 | Did you format your computer and try to resync your iPod? If so you're fucked.
I doubt it just magically erased 6000 songs without you doing something. |

03.22.10 | Last thing I did was synch a video, but that was about an hour before it deleted the music |
Captain North
03.22.10 | At least you don't have to re-download shit. If its just from the iPod, I don't see what the fuss is. |
combustion07
03.22.10 | No I do have to redownload all the shit. It's from the last computer I had |
Captain North
03.22.10 | What the fuck, why didn't you transfer the files? An iPod only ever lasts a handful of years anyway. |
combustion07
03.22.10 | My old cpu crashed but I still had all the stuff on my ipod, I never thought to back anything up because I'm stoopid |

fucking idiot |
ninjuice
03.22.10 | I've only had the opposite happen. My hard drive crashed and so I had to transfer everything back onto it. 3/4 of it was on CD and the rest you can rip FROM an iPod, luckily.
|
combustion07
03.22.10 | Well would you like to give me something like it for free.
Cuz I'm brooookkkkeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee |

03.22.10 | Are you computer retarded or something? Just resync the songs back to your ipod in itunes. |
nttrbttrz
03.22.10 | Are you talking about when you sync your ipod and it says "no content" on your ipod's music section? That happened to me recently too and it's a recurring problem.
If so, you have to add a new song to be synced and re-sync it. Just re-syncing it does nothing, or at least for me. An alternative if you have nothing else to add is to put a space into the lyrics section of a song that's already on your ipod and re-sync. |
ninjuice
03.22.10 | ^^
"My old cpu crashed but I still had all the stuff on my ipod,"
You should still have them on CD....just in case. |
ninjuice
03.22.10 | previous post @ Prophet obviously |
Prophet178
03.22.10 | Well if his computer crashed and he lost his iTunes then tried to sync his iPod after restoring his PC it will delete all the songs on his iPod and tie it to the new, empty iTunes. It gives you multiple warnings before you do this though.
He's fucked two times over now if thats the case, no way to get the songs back. |
ButcheredChildren
03.22.10 | i suggest you put all your music in a file folder under "Music" for windows, if you have xboxlive this also allows you to access your music straight from your computer without wasting memory. beware though if you drag a song into iTunes from your "Music" file, if you edit the song name in the file folder iTunes won't recognize it and you'll have to re-drag the song back.
Personally i never used iTunes, i buy CD's or just pirate with torrents, don't rely so heavily on a website or a piece of equipment. everything has flaws, back up all your shit and i mean ALL of it, it'll take awhile tho.... 20,000 songs? holy fuck, i have close to 6,000 and it took an hour to backup all my music, good luck mann |
crazyblinddude
03.22.10 | zuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnee!!!

ninjuice
03.22.10 | "beware though if you drag a song into iTunes from your "Music" file, if you edit the song name in the file folder iTunes won't recognize it and you'll have to re-drag the song back."
That's why you A) have the program manage its music folder when you edit song info and B) have it make a separate copy of songs when you first play them or just rip CDs into iTunes. |
ButcheredChildren
03.22.10 | or you could just re-drag the song into iTunes... im not a supporter of useless programs that eat memory... :P |
UpperDecker
03.22.10 | Did you plug your ipod into a different computer instead of your main computer with all your songs? If thats the case, just plug it back into your computer with all your songs on it and they'll be put back on your ipod. If somehow your main computer with all your music crashed and all your music is gone, then you have to start over. Which is a bitch. |
Photon
03.22.10 | I have a Sony X-Series Walkman ..the sound quality is amazing (use to own a nano which had poor sound even with good headphones)..also i can just drag and drop muisc folders or sync it using almost any porgram like MediaMonkey, WMP,Winamp. Foobar |
SlightlyEpic
03.22.10 | Never had any problems with my iTunes or my iPod |
TheSpirit
03.22.10 | This is why everyone should switch their ipod to "manual update" then even if your itunes library gets deleted you can keep all your music on your ipod. |
asaf
03.22.10 | the expensive solution is to have a tera byte, and back up your 500g hard drive that everything directly goes into, instead of it being on your computer. besides, how much can your computer hold? 80? 160? i have 250 gigs of music, there is no way i am living my life without three ipods, an iphone, a hard drive and a terbyte. get with the times, brah.. |
