What I'm Looking Forward To In 2010

Bands that I'm looking to release a great new record in 2010.
1Protest the Hero

They're my favorite band (flame away, haters) and they're supposed to be writing a new record for release in 2010. If its as big of a leap as "Fortress" was from "Kezia", I'll be an eighteen year old in his first porn store.
2The Human Abstract

"Nocturne" was awesome; then they lost A.J. Minette, robbing them of talent, classical guitar, and, most importantly, songwriting. Now he's in and mediocre vocalist Nathan Ells is out. What more could a THA fan ask for?
3Parkway Drive

They are one of the only standout bands in metalcore nowadays, so another release from them is something to look forward to indeed.
4Periphery

Misha Mansoor is an awesome songwriter and guitar player. Their vocalist isn't the best, but their music more than makes up for it. I've been watching them for a while, and their album is finally coming out after many a lineup change.
5Woe of Tyrants

Another of my favorite bands, and their new album (the two songs I've heard) sounds epic. I've been waiting with bated breath since I saw the album cover.
6Veil of Maya

Their new album also sounds pretty impressive thus far and I'm looking forward to hearing more of it.
7The Faceless

I'm a big tech-death fan and The Faceless are some of the better proprietors of this ever-crowding genre. Word on the street is that their new album is going to be a continuation of "Planetary Duality". Clearly this is nothing but good news.
8Cheddar Cheese and the Mousetrap

A joke band featuring masters of comedy Rody Walker (Guitars/Vocals), Tim Millar (Piano/Vocals), and Chris Wynne (Drums). With two members of Protest the Hero and Rody's trademark sense of humor, how can we expect anything but greatness? Check them out at myspace.com/cheddarcheeseband
9Sky Eats Airplane

Their new track sounded okay; the music was impressive and creative as always, but the departure of Jerry Roush and addition of Bryan Zimmerman has me a little worried. In my opinion, SEA should kick Bryan to the curb, make new bassist Elliot Coleman (of OMNOM fame, another Misha Mansoor project [myspace.com/omnom] lead vocalist, and bring Lee Duck back in on harmonies.
10Dance Gavin Dance

Supposedly, they're writing a new record to be out in mid 2010. A new DGD record is cause for serious celebration. They are one of the only bands that have never put out a bad song, in my opinion of course. Their jazzy undertones (and sometimes overtones) are some of the most welcome, and aurally pleasing, sounds to come out of my iPod.
