03.15.10 | Personally, i have been contemplating this for the past week, and i still cannot really come to terms on an actual decision.
i mean music is a big scale-tipper, but being able to see my instrument is almost as important(at least to me) that if i can see where it's at i can manifest the sound in my head, kind of like Beethoven had to do in his latter part of his career.
and that's just one aspect, the music aspect at least, to my dilemma. |

03.15.10 | This is fucking impossible. I would hate either one so much. Music = Life, but then again, so many things would become impossible if you lost your sight. You couldn't even learn the same way in classes or walk around normally. Plus, it would suck to never see your girlfriend (or just beautiful women) again. Man, this decision sucks... |
IRAI
03.15.10 | my thoughts exactly.
Its so hard to decide... |
sniper
03.15.10 | Like, my whole life would change if I went deaf. First of all, I'd never hear the new Minus the Bear album, so that already sucks. Plus, I'm a music major, and therefore would have wasted SERIOUS time practicing 20 hours + per week with remaining reward. Fuck dude, hardest question ever. |
IRAI
03.15.10 | i mean its pretty much pick your poison.
and what sucks even more is a lot of people dont even really have a choice in the matter...that sucks worse than having a theoretical choice. |
bloc
03.15.10 | Impossible to choose. Despite that, out of all 5 senses I think sight is the most valuable followed by hearing. |
DoubtGin
03.15.10 | wow... decision is fuckin hard.. if I HAD to take one, it'd be being blind I guess, even though its just as terrible to have no eyesight..
|
TomServo
03.15.10 | for me it's not a hard choice, would definitely choose deaf over blind. Being blind really frightens me. Not knowing exactly what's going on around you and just feeling really vulnerable. The 1 thing i would really miss is music.
Other pros to being deaf over blind are you can still drive, still watch movies easily with subtitles, and read (without having to learn braille, which seems like it would not be and easy thing to learn)
Maybe I'm alittle less afraid of being deaf, because I'm already deaf in one ear, so i'm halfway there, haha. |

03.15.10 | As much as I love music I would choose to be deaf. Hearing is cool and all but sight is so vital for life...I couldn't piss people off on sputnik if I was blind.
If you were deaf you can still enjoy reading, I'd probably read a lot more poetry (Which I believe would be a viable alternative) and you can still enjoy paintings, sculptors, porn...etc. |
PayneTiger777
03.15.10 | I would choose to be deaf, even though I won't be able to listen to amazing music. If you are blind then you won't be able to see what music you are putting on, although you could organize it so you know what is what. If you are deaf then you can still feel the vibrations in the music. It's a lot harder to live without your eyesight imo. |

03.15.10 | Lets see, I spend 95% of my days doing the following, listening to music, playing music, playing video games. Also Shane makes a good point. Not being able to see your girlfriend/significant other would really suck.
Do I have to choose? ARG. |
sumyunguy
03.15.10 | I agree, this decision is too difficult to make. How about this? Would you rather lose your hearing OR your sense of taste AND smell? |
March_Of_Sand
03.15.10 | As much as it would suck to lose your hearing, I think it would suck even more to never ever see again so I choose going deaf.
@sumyunguy I would definitely rather lose both my sense of taste and smell over losing my hearing. |
EasternLight
03.15.10 | i'd lose sight, because i would go insane without music. |
sniper
03.15.10 | Thats difficult too sumyunguy but I'd rather lose taste/smell. They add color to life but I think I need hearing more. It would still fucking blow though. |
SlightlyEpic
03.15.10 | blindness, deafness or getting your dick cut off? |
CompanionCube
03.15.10 | rather lose sight cause then you dont get the deaf rasp of a voice |
Nagrarok
03.15.10 | Easy choice. Music is far better than anything you can see. |
tiesthatbind
03.15.10 | I would choose being deaf. |
nychicano
03.15.10 | Easily deaf. |
Satellite
03.15.10 | I'd definitely rather lose my hearing. Seeing shit ftw. |
BurningApollo
03.15.10 | That is a question that always pops into my mind. I would say i'd rather be blind. Music is too damn important to me to lose. Playing it and listening to it. But being blind would suck hardcore. It's a tough question |
Mr. Lizard
03.15.10 | The art for 1 is a good reason to lose your sight, but overall i'd rather lose my hearing |
AndManyMore
03.15.10 | i was actually gonna say porn = sight so i would give up hearing lol |
Mr. Lizard
03.15.10 | I want to lose touch |
TheFourthAmigo
03.15.10 | I'd say I would keep hearing. |
jesusjuice1179
03.15.10 | i'd prefer to lose neither, but if i had to lose one of my senses it would be smell. yea you can't smell good food anymore, but you also don't have to smell the raunchy dude who sits in front of me in class |
nickobretto
03.15.10 | Sight, I could still fap to old At The Drive-In albums.
but srsly, I have no idea haha |
IRAI
03.15.10 | i didnt pick smell or taste, obvoiusly because however necessary they are to accentuate things in life, they aren't as vital to survival as hearing and sight.
i feel picking those to oppose either of the 2 vital senses would be more or less a compromise and not totally devastating to aspects of how you live your life.
yeah sure ill lose my smell to still hear. or even my taste to keep either.
touch is sort of a neutral sense, albeit vital , it isn't as much of a hindrance (you would think) to be without. but then again you dependent fappers would hate that as well. |
Deviant.
03.15.10 | I'd rather lose my sight. Sure, you wouldn't be able to see loved ones and whatnot, but at least you would know what they looked like at one time. I'm too obsessed with music not to be able to hear it, and I don't know about you lot but I can play my guitar blindfolded. Not incredibly well, but... |
