jesusjuice1179 03.11.10	i honestly don't think metalcore is as better than thrash all the time, but those few bands like ABR and Botch puts it above the relatively un-varied style of thrash, and melo-death is very good but again its the same thing so thats why i have metalcore up higher

jesusjuice1179 03.11.10	@Cerbyrus: i haven't listened to enough doom/sludge/stoner metal to put it on the list, read the description @pit: i only needed to listen to one band to put me off to the rest cuz if i don't like the genre then how would i like other bands in the same genre, if that makes sense;) also, metalcore is generic, but as in my little description, those few metalcore bands make it much more enjoyable than deathcore

eternium 03.11.10	I've never heard a good deathcore band. Decent at best. Metalcore should be separated between the early bands, who were more hardcore based and better, and the melodic metalcore bands who don't sound too much like the older bands and play riffs more like melodic death metal, but less interesting and sound the same. Because seriously, Killswitch Engage doesn't sound much like Botch.
theacademy 03.11.10	metalcore + nu metal + prog metal + thrash metal only 4 you'll ever need melodeath on sundays, but otherwise, you're fine with the big 4.

cvlts 03.11.10	jesusjuice, your explanation for metalcore can also apply for deathcore. yeah, the genre gets effing flak for bands like BMTH and The Acacia Strain and shit, but there are decent bands like Animosity, All Shall Perish, Glass Casket and The Red Chord that do the genre proud. check those bands out if you haven't and get back at me if you still feel the same way about the genre.

jesusjuice1179 03.11.10	@Genocide: I've heard both The Red Chord and All Shall Perish and i can honestly say that i hate their music, the technicality is good, but i hate the whole idea that technicality takes precedence over songwriting and melody, so my explanation of metalcore doesn't apply to deathcore(at least not for me) because there are those few bands who are really good, instead of deathcore where i find none of the bands to be appealing

eternium 03.11.10	Opeth is progressive death metal. Mathcore is a very dissonant and complex (especially with timing) brand of metalcore, such as Botch and Dillinger Escape Plan.
